Boring experience
We booked a room a few months ago.
We contacted Plevna farm in connection with this and asked IF possible to check in earlier to have time for an event.
It is perfectly understandable if it is not possible to solve, but we thought that there might be an opportunity for good foresight. We got an answer to emails that they would try to solve this.
When we arrive, we are told that there is no solution. However, our friends who booked the week before the same type of room and did not contact the farm and asked for earlier check-in can access their room 2 hours earlier.
Strange yet something we could also condone.
When we get to the rooms (small houses) it smells cool and bad. One of the rooms has mold in the bathroom. Broken spotlights hanging down from the ceiling. Broken roller blind leaning against the window. Broken electrical cables. Toilet brush that looks like years old.
Rooms are not fresh.
Paying $125 per night for rooms here feels way too high priced.
We then request to have a glass of bubbly before setting off on their serving / porch.
When we ask if we can sit there, we are first told that we can sit in the lobby. So there are no diners there and we explain that they are just quick glass so they resolve then reluctantly. The feeling that you are almost awkward because you want to shop in their bar. Zero social skills.
There are broken lights on the walls of the dining room there are broken electrical devices for the lighting outdoors and we did not feel welcome or pleasantly treated.
We had no high expectations of any luxurious room at all but that they should feel fresh and that you should get a nice reception, it should be obvious.
It is a charming place otherwise and had at least the staff been nice and welcoming I probably would not have written this review and instead just denounced the mold and low standard of the rooms

A lunch for a group
Nice reception by the owner (?) who told us about the history of the building.
We were served a lunch consisting of beef patties, potatoes and salad with feta cheese. And coffee with a little cake. Perfectly OK place!

There is a popular camping near the hotel. The hotel is next to the road leading to the camping area. The village youth gathered there and there were a lot of people driving around in cars and mopeds. The camping area has a nice beach.

Here the service checks out first
This hotel offers a good experience if everything goes smoothly and if you do not need to interact with the staff more than necessary. Shortly after we booked, we took note of the hotel's reviews which are very varied. We thought it couldn't be as bad as some described it and chose not to cancel, unfortunately.
We booked through hotels.com and stated that we had a child of 0 years in the booking. To ensure that the room was adapted for that, we emailed the hotel, which replied that there was no possibility of a crib in the room and that all other rooms were booked. It felt strange that it could be so but we thought that we will make our own solution once in place.
Check-in went well reasonably smoothly. The hotel was supposed to be a little more paid than what was agreed according to the booking, but it sounded like it would work out at check-out when the manager was back on site.
Once inside the room, it smelled very very harsh, a smell that immediately settled in the mouth and throat. The smell persisted even though we aired for over 1 hour, after which we went to the reception to talk to the staff about the smell. The receptionist’s answer was literally “the hotel is fully booked”, nothing “wow” or similar. The response made it pretty clear that this wasn't the first time guests had complained about smells.
The receptionist called the manager and it initially seemed that there was a vacant room, but that was not cleaned. However, this solution disappeared badly when the receptionist told the manager which booking the complaint was about. It is not clear why, but the answers can probably be found in the other reviews received by the hotel.

This property is rated top. It's lying. Beautiful older building in the outskirts of Malmköping. The wine unfortunately reduced the impression.

Suspect it was a “box wine that was served. We did not see any bottle. I think it was miserable, not to let us taste. Especially when you don't know the brand. However, I know how the grape usually tastes. This wine was way too sour. Probably got too old. Therefore, beware if you order wine with your food!!
We did as usual a little walk in the immediate surroundings before the meal. On the way down to the lake we saw a viper, which appeared to be dead. When we later went back it was still there, but now it had slithered out into the road. There it was very vulnerable to being run over by a car. We therefore moved it to the forest next door. I don't like snakes, but I felt sorry for them. Half an hour later we rescued a cat, who was walking on a street in the center of Malmköping. He or she had not understood that cars can be dangerous. I tried to tell you, but it didn't help. Suddenly there was a car, but the kitty did not care about the danger and moved calmly on. The driver of the car then had to stop and the cat crossed over to the other side of the street.
