Receptionists threatening customers for asking to see housing rules in writing

Booked 9 nights. Left after 1. Threatened for asking to see the rules in writing.
Staff asked my visitor to leave after a short visit. I complied immediately - no argument, no issue. All I asked in return was one simple question at reception: what is the visitor policy? I got three different answers from three different staff members. Even the morning after, I received different information.
So I asked to see it in writing. That's when things turned. The owner and his son didn't produce a policy. Instead, they threatened to throw me out on the spot. The son's exact words: “This is Sweden, and the hotel is mine. I make the rules."
I no longer felt welcome or comfortable continuing my stay. I checked out the next morning and walked away from 8 paid nights.
Then came the refund process - handled, unbelievably, by the same son who had just threatened me. Every claim: rejected. I was eventually connected by phone to the hotel manager, who apologized for how I'd been treated and promised the refund would be processed the next day. I left my number with reception as instructed. Three days later - nothing. I was the one stuck chasing it, calling Booking.com again and again while the hotel went silent.
I don't mind rules. I mind being threatened for asking what they are. Book elsewhere. This is what happens when you hold this hotel accountable for its own policies: you get lectured about whose country you're in, intimidated into leaving, and then stonewalled every step of the way while trying to get back money you never should have had to fight for.

It was a good stay for the price and easy to access from the train system.

Sweden's most expensive dog room? Good enough for a short overnight stay, possibly.

The area is not very good, we were both required ID at check-in which makes you wonder which clientele usually lives there. The bathroom smelled like moldy towels. We booked room for dog and got a small room of maybe 10-12 sqm without windows. We were charged 500 SEK for two small dogs, with the reason that you need to use a special detergent in the dog room. No dog bowls, although we usually bring our own. Breakfast was incredibly low budget, even for a low budget hotel. The dining room felt like a boring unrenovated club room. The bed was ok! The staff was very friendly.

Warning

Warning! What arrival does the staff claim that we have cancelled our room which was not true. We had come a long way and had to take a room in a “hotel” that they referred us to. Much more expensive!
