⭐Best steak and best burger we have ever eaten!!
Hotel Lacotel was a bit of surprise. First time in Avenches & found this place online. Upon arrival you wouldn't be too hyped as the front side of hotel looks like a Motel. Nothing fancy.
Restaurant was lovely. Undoubtedly the best steak and hamburger we have ever eaten! AMAZING! A must try! Meat is superb in quality and just melts in your mouth♥️♥️♥️ Restaurant staff Pedro was more than very receptive, kind and helpful. Catered to the demands of our one year old!
Reception employees were very warm and helpful. Already a great first impression! There was no lift (only 2 floors) the hallways are not very well lit yet rooms are small but very clean. Bed was very comfortable!
We will definitely come back. P.S a nice playground for children just on the back of hotel

much better than it looks
For whatever reason it was dificult to find a hotel near Bern. We landed in Lacotel which is situated next to a holiday resort. The buildings are not realy attractive, but the room was convenient and clean, nice swimmingpool, and the restaurant above expectations! Bern only 40 minutes by car. All in all; good choice.

Such a great surprise
This place was so much more than I expected, although I don't know what I was expecting. I booked it because I had tickets for Opera en Fête and it was the last place I could find in Avenches. I barely even looked at their website.
Imagine my surprise when I get to my room - cozy, clean, and efficient, with a BALCONY that overlooked a POOL! I was so lucky I threw my bathing suit into my bag at the last minute.
All the staff were lovely and the bread at breakfast was amazing!
I had no car, so I used the bus to get into Avenches - there's a couple buses an hour, but they stop pretty early in the evening. A taxi from Avenches station to the Lacotel at 2330 on Saturday night was 25CHF, but I didn't want to walk along dark country roads for half an hour.

Overnight convenience stay
We were in search of an hotel to stay overnight following a big anniversary party for friends. This address was given to us, was a short drive from the dinner location and the staff were really helpful, firstly with the provision of tape, staples etc. in order to be able to wrap the gift I had brought. Next morning, having brought my own lactose-free milk the waiter said - in future let us know you need special foods and we will provide them. The room was modern, spotless and comfortable. As it was winter we did not make use of outdoor facilities, but we would certainly return due to the really helpful staff. It also seemed very children friendly from watching other families there.

A Lovely Surprise
Like other reviewers, we were not impressed by the outside, but once inside, we were greeted warmly and our room was spotless and very comfortable, with a nice balcony. Coffees and teas were provide in the room, which was nice -- we enjoyed them out on our balcony. The rooms are also very, very quiet - we did not hear a peep out of the baby staying in the next room, even though her parents told us later that she had been fussy.
And the restaurant - again, it didn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, it was very nicely furnished, and our meals were excellent - I had the local fish along with a local wine, both of which were delicious. My husband had the burger along with a local beer, which he greatly enjoyed.
