Very nice stay with fine food at the Hotel Löwen

We were very impressed with the Hotel Löwen. We enjoyed a very fine dinner with friends in the evening. The various dishes were perfectly prepared, hot and tasted excellent. The host and the staff were very friendly. We stayed overnight in this beautiful hotel. The room was very clean and functionally furnished. We felt very comfortable during our stay and can highly recommend this accommodation.

Jen in Wonderland!!!

The entire experience was as if I was in wonderland. The wooden flooring the interiors were out of a fairytale. The hospitality was the icing on the cake. The owner and everyone who worked there were all kind and welcoming.

Stay away if you are part of a group

I traveled with my sons on an educational trip through EF Tours and stayed in this "hotel" for two nights. While the main part of the hotel is cute enough from the outside, it is overdue for upgrades. The rooms are oddly configured. If our whole group had been in the main hotel, I would have increased rating to 2 stars. However, a good portion of our group was lodged in another building at least a half block away, down a poorly-lit narrow road past several abandoned buildings. Once there, the second building was further subdivided into two separate entries so the kids staying in one portion had no easy access to people in the other section. No phones. Terrible wifi. The rooms, while clean, had a strange fuel oil odor. The heating barely worked. My dimly-lit basement single room was cell-sized with the shower in the room instead of in the bathroom (though the shower worked great-one bright spot). I was grateful for the bars on the window of my cell. There was one electrical outlet. The bedding consisted of an outdated, lumpy duvet. The church across the street is quite charming unless you are bothered by the clock chiming every half hour. After the clock chimed 11:00 pm, I took a sleeping pill! The lady running the place was initially rude but warmed up during the stay. The food was passable but nothing special. If you get assigned to this hotel through an EF Tour, complain strenuously. It is an hour past Lucerne so we wasted four hours of our trip schlepping back and forth to this dump. There is no reasonable excuse for EF to have lodged us here.

Great history and tradition

This is a small family run hotel and is great value for money. Located a little walk from the railway station.
The family that run it are really very friendly. Ask for their apartment rooms in a separate block which are equally great. Ask for Roeby!
