Great place to explore the Aletschgletscher

The hotel is simple, very clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic. We booked with them on the phone and got a good deal. Breakfast is absolutely amazing! The location is ideal tp explore the surroundings (Aletschgletscher Höhenweg and Märjelensee). Great biking and hiking. We preferred to stay here than in the village. One of the best lodges we had in our Swiss vacation. Thanks a lot Reto and team for the fantastic stay!! We will surely come back

We stopped there to have some food, the salad was really nice but the Rhubarb Flan was days old and a waste of money. So disappointing as we had some really good flans there in the past.

Quick dessert with great views

This is your average Swiss mountain-top, self service restaurant but it’s got a huge panoramic terrace with lovely views. The last piece of apple strudel was very tasty and not too sweet, served with a generous portion of vanilla cream. There are certainly more special restaurants in Fiescheralp but this is a spot that quickly and effectively serves the purpose.

Never again

Alpenlodge Kühboden is a hotel and restaurant/lounge as well.
I'm just here to review restaurant/lounge staff.
On October 21 2017, 5 friends and I went for a quick beer while waiting for the cable car that would take us to Fiesch.
On our arrival, we sat down and waited for the waitress. One of us asked for a beer, while the others were still not sure what to have and didn't order anything for the moment. Most likely most of us would get something to drink. Anyways, after having said that for the moment we were ordering only 1 beer, the waitress, who was not that polite, said that we could not just order 1 beer in a table of six. Furthermore, she even said that there's a rule in Switzerland that states you cannot do this. Of course that this is rubbish and I even asked her to show me. We all know what happened, nothing. She said she wouldn't take our request and that the space, electricity and staff had to be paid. Well, the entire room, which is quite large, was completely empty, being us the only ones there. Irony or not, this waitress and staff were so in need of money that she would rather have an empty room than six people contributing to the atmosphere and consume more later.
All in all, this just sums an awful service and attitude towards the clients of this space, who will never step foot, nor recommend this place in such need of money. Well, an empty restaurant really tells the quality of the service, right?
Never in my life a situation like this happened to me or my friends.

Friendly staff, good food, great view

We were only at the restaurant, there is a part self-service, or à part were you are served at the table. We enjoyed sitting outside on the nice sundeck, sitting on a warm sheepskin, with a great mountain panorama of many 4000m you can see.
The feed was excellent, nicely presented, and a good quality - price ratio. the menu of the day was 19 CHF, which is reasonable in Switzerland.
The location is very good for a break at lunch, when skiing to the Eggishorn or the many other options around.
