Delicious food and nice staff
The staff was friendly and very nice.

Off The Beaten Track but ideal for touring - Especially Bikers
We arrived at the Gasthaus Waldheim after quite a demanding ride over a number of extremely beautiful and demanding mountain passes (passing through a tiny hamlet called ‘Bergun’ en route where we stopped for a drink and all were impressed with its beauty. When I return to the area; I will consider stopping here! )
We had stayed at Hotel Gufler the previous evening at Sluderno, Northern Italy (see separate review)
The first thing that impressed all of us was that the hotel restaurant with full with lots and lots of people (probably locals, eating their Sunday Lunch and obviously enjoying it!) – this was indeed a good sign.
We were greeted by who we believe may have been the owners son. A very smart, polite young man who spoke perfect English and insisted we parked our motor bikes in the basement garage after he removed the family car – this was such a nice touch!!
We were shown to our rooms which were spotlessly clean and very Swiss Guest house type rooms.
Our facilities were shared (but we knew that when we booked – so it was no surprise and these were very clean and functional.
We were also pleased to find a welcoming bar. We sat in the beer garden and the same young man served our drinks and provided menus for our evening meals, which were traditional food cooked to perfection for all of us and tasty excellent; followed by a naughty but nice apple strudel with ice cream.
After a good night’s sleep, breakfast the following morning was excellent and offered a choice of hams, cheeses, muesli, yoghurts, with a selection of assorted breads, rolls, croissants and jams together with unlimited tea and coffee.
All in all we all rated our experience as excellent (in spite of shared facilities)
Again a place I would revisit – especially biker friendly!!

Sehr gutes Essen. Statt Raststätte Thusis eine tolle, günstigere und bessere Alternative!
Wir hatten Spargeln mit frischen Kartoffeln und Bratwurst an Zwiebelsauce mit gebackenen Kartoffelsticks. Alles hervorragend zu einem absolut fairen Preis.
In Zukunft werden wir wieder öfters die Bernardino-Route nehmen und freuen uns wieder im Gasthaus Waldheim einkehren zu können!
