As a travel professional who has seen the world's finest properties, I can say with confidence that Appenzeller Huus sets a new benchmark for luxury. This isn't just a resort; it is a masterpiece of design and tradition seamlessly blended into a state-of-the-art experience.
The attention to detail in the architecture and the sophisticated atmosphere are remarkable, but what truly elevated my stay was the caliber of the team.
In particular, Aristotelis Tellos stands out as one of the most professional and enthusiastic travel experts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His passion for hospitality is infectious, and his expertise is evident in every interaction. In a world where "luxury" is often a buzzword, Aristotelis delivers the genuine, high-touch service that VIP clients and seasoned travelers expect.
The combination of a world-class facility and a team that genuinely cares about the guest journey makes this a standout destination. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Top stay in a beautiful Appenzell landscape.
The hotel looked brand new, with a lot of wood everywhere, very classy. Even though the prices were a bit high, the Botanicum bar is worth a visit. The spa on the upper floor is just perfect. The rooms are very well soundproofed (or we just didn't have any neighbors...). In short, a top stay!

Disappointing
First of all, if we give a review on your site, it means that we have not received a satisfaction questionnaire directly from the hotel.
Well received, small room, amazing, maybe because we had a good Qoqa?!. On the other hand, it is not embarrassed to charge us 150.- frs more for the weekend. While the hotel is lined with construction sites. Without being warned. Spa, we wanted to do a bubble bath none worked!. On 3!!.
Evening meal, we chose Appenzeller Stube, for local specialties. But card very few choices and by default we took a cordon bleu!. What about the breakfast, again disappointing buffet, unprepared fruit, limited bread choice, and the worst the cheese platter with some crusts left over, see photo, we waited 10 minutes to allow time to recharge, nothing came. I asked the waiter, he told me which one you want!!!... and we were not at the end of the service. Living this experience on the way back from Austria, the Swiss luxury hotel industry has something to worry about.
We think there’s clearly a lack of an on-site manager who oversees all of this.

The Huus Quell in Appenzell is one of those rare houses that makes you feel as if you are entering: Everything is just right here. Almost everything – more on that in a moment.
Spa & Wellness – an experience for all the senses
The heart of the house is undoubtedly the spa area. Generous landscape, thoughtfully designed and blessed with a calmness that you sorely miss in everyday life. Of particular note is the Lomi Lomi Massage – absolutely top class. The flowing, wave-like movements of this Hawaiian art were executed here with precision and dedication unparalleled. An experience that will reverberate for a long time to come. The quality of all applications is excellent, the staff discreet and attentive. If you check in here and don’t use the spa, you’ll miss the best – a real must-see.
The wine cellar – a dream for lovers
Those who love wine will not soon forget the cellar of Huus Quell. The selection is magnificent: deep vintages, international rarities, but also carefully selected Swiss wines. A wine tour or an evening in the cellar is definitely part of the program – this is not an ordinary hotel range, but a real collection built with passion.
Suites – High-quality living
The suites are generously designed and thoughtfully decorated – not overloaded luxury, but honest alpine design with comfort that really hits home. Plenty of space, good materials, and you can tell that savings were not made in the wrong place.
The construction site – temporary downer
At the time of the visit, the surroundings of the hotel were unfortunately marked by construction work, which somewhat diminishes the first arrival and the appearance. That’s a shame – but it’s a temporary state of affairs, and you can’t wait to see how the house will present itself after the work is finished. In any case, the potential is enormous.
Conclusion:
Huus Quell is an exceptional hotel with a spa, wine cellar and spacious suites. The ongoing construction work is a small scratch on an otherwise very fine diamond. A return is set – preferably when the construction site is history.
