Nice, central and quiet family hotel

Family hotel with friendly air on a hill adjacent to the central train station and bus station.
At the center, quiet and quiet.
Great view from the room and a lovely garden.
The breakfast is rich.
The hotel has a great restaurant.
There is a service room for guests with a washing machine and a dryer.

It's a WOW!

Our stay at the Alpina Hotel in Grindelwald was absolutely outstanding. The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking — waking up each morning to the stunning Swiss Alps right outside our window was unforgettable.
The room was exceptionally comfortable, spotless, and beautifully maintained, making it the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the area.
What truly made our stay special was the staff. Every team member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience.
The breakfast each morning was excellent, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. Dinner was equally impressive — high-quality food, beautifully prepared, and enjoyed with incredible mountain views.
We could not have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend the Alpina Hotel to anyone visiting Grindelwald. A true 5-star stay! My only complaint was - we had to leave!

Wonderful!

We loved our stay here. Had two double rooms and a single for our family. The place is very traditional and the staff were so helpful. Very clean. We loved the breakfasts. Incredible views. We took the rooms at the back and still had some views but the ones on the front had phenomenal views. Walk up the hill was 150/200m and was not a problem at all. I thought it was going to be a lot worse from reading other reviews! Location was incredible as just by the train station. And at bottom of Main Street of the town. A great relief to be so close when coming back from the slopes in ski boots. We loved our stay and would love to come back in spring summer for hiking.

OK option in Grindlewald. Just don’t complain at the restaurant.

We stayed here for two nights hiking the Via Alpina. It would have been nicer if we had a room with a view - that’s the travel company’s fault. The service was subpar at the restaurant the first night - new staff maybe - and we mentioned it. Mysteriously there was no availability our second night for dinner, fully reserved - although when we got back from our (superior) restaurant that night it looked largely empty. Small loss. Not my fave but the location is central if you don’t mind an uphill hike.
