Wonderful bnb
My husband, young son and I had a brilliant stay in February, the bnb is wonderfully traditional with comfortable rooms, and breakfast was perfect. Franzi and Marco were very kind and able to share lots of tips for the mountains. We hope to be back again!

Rude owners
Booked this stay in Grindelwald on my 4 week European solo journey! I had really high hopes given prior reviews but I would never book this place or recommend it to anyone again. On the very first night I was there, Franzi showed me how to open the windows of my 3rd flood room. I didn’t use them however & woke up with over 15 mosquito bites to my body. I ended up with a pretty significant allergic reaction and spent almost 100CHF and many trips to the pharmacy for supplies to help. Franzi even brought it to my attention that when she did a room check the following morning she found many mosquitos. She killed a bunch, sprayed the room. The next day after she set a trap. Too little too late. When I brought this up and asked for a refund for ONLY the first night (not the entirety of the stay) I was met with blame that it was my fault for having sensitive skin, and she can’t control that prior renters may have kept windows open too long and that she’s glad there are mosquitos in nature for the animals for food where she lives. She wasn’t going to honor compensation. I have email proof of this.
On top of this, the pillows are very flat and uncomfortable (and you only get one) and the beds are very firm just as a forewarning if you are okay with that.
I was really looking forward to my experience in Grindelwald and just felt that it was completely tainted by my experience at Lehmann’s Herberge.
I would rather pay more to stay somewhere I know I’m going to be treated with respect.

Lovely place
Stayed here for several days, just a quick 10 minute walk from the train station, very convenient location. Our room was in attic with two single beds. Cozy and clean.Free breakfast was good, bread, juices, coffee, tea, hard boiled egg, yogurt, cheese, salami/ham, etc. The woman/owner at the front desk was very nice and hospitable. I wish I could give 5 stars but the husband was really strict. He does not allow photos taken in the breakfast room. There is a sign actually stating this but if you missed it, he would say it right in your face in front of everybody. I wished he would just whisper it and not put you in the hot spot...Just a reminder to future guests.

Fun time in Grindelwald
How has no one written a review of this place in 4 years? As we all know, Switzerland is very expensive but Lehmann's is a relative bargain. They call themselves a hostel but more like a large BnB. You won't be living in the lap of luxury but the location couldn't be better, there was a great view outside our window, the room was bigger than I expected and the bathroom was more modern and larger than I thought we'd get. Breakfast was nice (with a lot of coffee options from the machine) and people eating there were all pleasant. Bedding, pillows and towels could have been a bit better but not a huge deal. I even managed to go 3 days without a TV!

Fantastic ski holiday
The hostel more than met our expectations. The location with wonderful views of the Eiger north face and super central location in Grindelwald was just the icing on the cake. The hosts keep your promise. The cozy rooms are very well maintained and in top condition. The breakfast buffet is lovingly prepared and the service excellent. The next stay in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland we will again prefer to spend here. The quaint modernized building and hospitality of the hostel owners was unbeatable. Thank you for this great stay!
