This accommodation is very, very nice. Friendly staff, great rooms and great breakfast. All clean. The view is unstoppable. What more could you want. Should we be back in this area, we definitely book there again.

Average/underwhelming stay

Average stay
The beds were good and room overall was fine and had a nice view out the window..
BUT
Staff not the friendliest, were a bit fake and got awkward when trying to get laundry done, one said one thing and another said something else.
Walls are very thin so expect to hear other guests talking
Bad value for money but it was the only place available due to spontaneus holiday so we had no other choice within the town
The walk up to the hotel from town is brutal with luggage but buses do stop right outside
Breakfast was very limited, pretty much just different breads with choices of what to put on

Watch out! Not safe not pleasant!

Far too hot two person room located directly under roof. Hugely dry air causing unpleasant dry throat and mouth of both of us. Under the bed also a lot of dust and huge noise sensitive with neighboring rooms. Food was stolen from our box twice. Staff unkind and tried to drop us off by making us pay the price for the nights in euros at a far too high rate. Pay attention not okay!

Great hostel in Grindelwald

Very nice hostel in Grindelwald, friendly, informative staff. Bus across street takes you to the central area. Clean rooms - pretty rustic bunk beds but sink in room was nice, shared bathroom. Continental breakfast included. Pleasant stay in comfortable hostel.

Oh damn, what a bad surprise!...

We were 2 couples spending one night in this hostel.
Everything started well in this beautiful chalet enjoying a beautiful view.
We quickly became disillusioned a week later, when one person from each of the two couples saw numerous spots appear, accompanied by itching complicated by inflammatory reactions:(
After reading previous reviews we quickly understood that we had fallen prey to bedbugs that night.
The “Maison des Amis de la Nature” has never lived up to its name so well...and now, an informed tourist is worth two!!!
