Good location right on the lake

We stayed at Hotel Pilatus for 6 nights as part of a group trip. We had booked the mountain railway program "Big 5 of Switzerland" and were very positively surprised.
With the included Lucerne Card, we were able to use all the boats, trains, and mountain railways in the area. The train station is about a 7-minute walk away, and you can be in Lucerne in about 15 minutes. A boat landing is also not far away. A supermarket is located across the street.
We had a room with a direct lake view, which is highly recommended, as the standard rooms face the street and are therefore very noisy. The view of the lake and the sunrise were dreamlike.
The entire staff was very friendly, and the owner of the hotel also greeted us personally and gave a short presentation about the hotel and the region.
We had booked half-board; the breakfast and the dinner were both very good. The drink prices are correspondingly high, as they are in the rest of Switzerland. There is currently a construction site at the hotel, but it did not bother us.

Pleasant stay but not a 4 star hotel

Overall we enjoyed our stay but found the hotel generally a poor standard and overpriced.
The lakeside location is great but the water access is shabby. The pool was a great amenity.
We had a connected double room and suite but both seemed to be the same size. The rooms were of an ok standard but strangely laid out including with bifold doors rather than a balcony.
The common areas were dark and dinghy. They had construction work ongoing which is fine, I can forgive that but even unaffected areas like the lobby and breakfast area were badly kept and unwelcoming.
Some staff were pleasant. Service was generally slow and inattentive.
This hotel has huge potential but really felt like they are living off the lakeside location. It has lovely views.

Beautiful surroundings, don't go for the hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of a renovation that will take at least until October. We were told that it would last until the end of July, until mid-August at the most, you expect the final work after a renovation. We had a hard time with that. Say it like it is. However, the hotel is in the middle of it. During the week breakfast or sunbathing by the water without building noises is not possible. Despite that, we stayed. To have to carry the dog and everything we didn't feel like anymore. The room was well equipped and by moving the balcony to the room spacious. We were able to put our dog's crate under the table for the suitcase next to the wardrobe. The floor of the balcony was tiled which worked nicely with the food and water for our dog. The hotel is nicely located on the water. We have used the reasonably equipped sauna daily. The breakfast was neat but you expect and higher standard and choice variation for the price you have to pay. The August 1 celebration was a real disappointment. It was rainy weather, but to put the tables in a bare room without any atmosphere and decoration and boring muzak was again not worth the money. All in all, we enjoyed the wonderfully beautiful surroundings of the Lucerne Lake daily and had a lovely walk with our dog and that was nothing short of enjoyable.
But to this hotel we will not return.

TOP location on Lake Lucerne

Top location on Lake Lucerne. Staff friendly, helpful, and competent. Spa area and direct access to Lake Lucerne. I will come back

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous lake views and access. Breakfast was delicious! Wish we could have stayed longer!
