Great seminar house near the lake

We conducted a seminar at the Romerohaus during a week. We were very satisfied with both the offer of the house (seminar room, accommodation, garden seating)) and the meal offer. The kitchen team responded to special requests, the breaks were rich. We felt safe and welcome, for which we are very grateful.

Clean but noisy

In transit to Italy made a stop in Lucerne. Clean hotel, walking distance to the center but also easily accessible by bus. However, the hotel is quite noisy, and there is no climate control in the room (air conditioning, thermostat, air change).

Very quiet place, I come here many times. Very simple, not far from the train or bus station, nor from the town center.

Not a minute of sleep – disappointing stay at RomeroHaus

Unfortunately, my stay at RomeroHaus Lucerne was a real disappointment – and on several levels.
I had specifically stated at the time of booking that I had to get up at 5 am and asked for a room as quiet as possible. Nevertheless, I was given a room right next to a family with a screaming baby. Loud crying was heard all night, along with loud train and freight train noises every 30 minutes. Sleep was simply impossible. Also the fridge in the room was insanely noisy, (well, you could turn it off) but the ventilation system of the neighboring rooms was audible through the walls.
What additionally made the stay unbearable was the sweet-perfumed smell in the room. Despite the window being open, this penetrating fragrance didn’t go away – I don’t know if it came from a room spray or from the previous guest, but it was hard for me to stand.
The parking space should cost 10 francs – that’s what the terms and conditions say we paid over 20. They were not willing to refund the difference. Instead, it was simply at reception: “You pressed something wrong .” in the sense- yourself to blame...
For 160 francs a night on the outskirts of the city, I expect much more in Switzerland especially sleeping comfort, some peace (booked just outside the city) and at least some goodwill when things go wrong. Nothing worked out here - from the room to the Service to the billing.
Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend the RomeroHaus!

Highly recommend

Very friendly and supportive staff, clean environment, cozy hotel, close to city centre.
Room was quite spacious and looking to the green backyard full of trees.
