Decent hotel - whistle stop tour
We stayed here for one night, arriving late and leaving early. As part of a walking tour package, we had dinner included on the first night. Arriving after dinner service had ended, the hotel kindly accommodated us and provided a meal from a set menu. I requested a vegetarian meal, would have been happy with a simple salad but they prepared something for me.
The room was quite small and was very warm due to outdoor temperatures, but was comfortable.
We left before breakfast to catch the train so can’t comment on the offer there.

As a family, we look for very specific qualities when choosing a hotel: beautiful scenery, comfort, delicious food, impeccable cleanliness, and all the necessary services. Hotel Alpbach exceeded every one of our expectations and is, without question, one of the very best hotels in Meiringen — if not the best.
From the moment we arrived for our week-long stay, we were warmly welcomed by Nadine, whose genuine kindness and professionalism immediately made us feel at home. Throughout our stay, she was consistently attentive, gracious, and wonderfully hospitable. Her sincere and heartfelt manner is something truly rare in the hospitality industry.
We travel frequently and have stayed in many 5- and 6-star hotels around the world. As discerning guests who are not easily impressed, we can honestly say that we could not find a single fault during our stay. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional — comparable to renowned establishments such as The Savoy and the Beverly Hilton, where we previously stayed in the same suite famously associated with Whitney Houston.
In every respect, our experience was outstanding. The hotel is run by a truly lovely couple whose dedication and warmth make all the difference. Nadine’s genuine welcome and personal attention made our stay especially memorable.
Please know how sincerely pleased and grateful we are for such a wonderful experience. We thoroughly loved our stay and look forward to returning.

Excellent address in Meiringen
Very nice place to stay in Meiringen. Welcoming more than friendly, comfortable and quiet room. Private parking for residents and quality wifi.
We stayed at this hotel with half board. Breakfast and dinner neat.
The hotel arranges a dinner reservation in another location on the evening of the restaurant closing.
Meiringen is well located to discover the region (Lucerne etc.)

Lovely hotel
We stayed here in July for 7 nights on a package which included dinner each night. We had a lovely time. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the owners are lovely hosts, and the food was great. On our deal there was no choice of food but it was all very good and not having to make any choices simplified things so much! It was 29C during the day when we were there with some hot nights, so the bedroom did get pretty warm at night. and the church bells do go through the night as well. Neither of those bothered us too much but they might be more important to some people. Meiringen was an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area - good transport links and less busy.

Fantastic food
A lovely hotel. Very warm (too warm sometimes - had to turn off the radiator in the bedroom!). Staff were all welcoming and very friendly. Food was exceptional - it was extremely well presented and there was a great variety throughout the week (we had booked a package holiday whereby we didn't get to choose what we ate each night). My husband is coeliac and so must eat gluten free food, the hotel understood this and provided safe, interesting alternatives for him if he couldn't eat the same as the rest of us. This is quite unusual, especially in a country with little understanding of, or provision for, those people who need to eat gluten free for health reasons.
