Beautiful break in Solothurn!
Beautiful weekend in Solothurn thanks to a good Qoqa for the Hotel Weissenstein! Guided tour of the excellent old town, closed road for winter then climbed the gondola and the view of the breathtaking Bernese Alps.
A very warm welcome, room with cozy & mountain south view. The window handles are cute!
Hearty and tasty meal - special mention to the Chef of the restaurant room who is very competent and anticipates the wishes of her guests. Despite a lack of staff she ensured the evening with professionalism.
Departure also very warm and want to experience again in spring or summer to enjoy nature.
Thank you stay as you are.

Good framework, very poor service management.
The good news first: the hospitality is excellent. Well-equipped, authentically stylish, newly renovated rooms. Comfortable beds, very nice bathrooms. Everything is spotlessly clean and quiet.
The gastronomy was less convincing. The head of service seemed completely overwhelmed or poorly organized. Almost nothing worked on the first attempt. The reservation was initially not found, service was very slow, the ordered drinks or food were delivered late, or orders were completely overlooked. There were only two menus for four people. An additional menu included dishes that were not intended for the evening service... Only a dessert menu was brought for four people. Clearing the tables was very uncoordinated - or not done at all. It should be noted that the influx of guests that evening was not particularly high.
The dishes were generally well cooked. However, the very poor service management undermined the efforts of the kitchen and the individual service staff members. Very unfortunate!

Once and not again
Waiting on the terrace in the nicest weather was indeed very pleasant.
But waiting 90 minutes for the ordered plate of the day was rather pure

Fantastic Hotel ... Amazing View
It's a wonderful hotel... what can I say about the view? It's amazing.
The food served in the restaurant is delicious... I couldn't stop enjoying it all.

No recommendation
We were yesterday on 08.04.26. in bright weather with our foreign guests at the Hotel Weissenstein and wanted to consume something. Half of the terrace was closed due to apparent lack of service and the rest was occupied. When asked if we could consume a drink while standing we only received a snappy answer "No". It was not possible to get just one glass of water although one of our guests was not well. Not even a vending machine or a water point has it. The treatment by the operating staff was to be ashamed of others. We then went to the lower restaurant, Sennhaus and were perfectly served. In the future, we will only stop there with our foreign guests. Too bad for this location.
