Novotel Lugano Paradiso je hotel s četiri zvjezdice, udaljen samo 200 metara od jezera Lugano, a do centra Lugana može se doći autobusom za 5 minuta. Bazen u sklopu objekta grije se i otvoren je od svibnja do kraja rujna.

New and Nice
Hotel seems to be newly renovated with nice and clean rooms, and the lobby was well appointed. Staff at the reception and bar were very polite and accommodating, but check-in at 3pm seems to be non-negotiable even as a Accor platinum member.
I like the room as it was large and had a complimentary mini bar. Water can be refilled through a cooler near the lifts, so it’s very environmentally friendly. However, there was little to no amenities in the toilet like toothbrushes and shavers etc. Would perhaps have to be requested from the housekeeping staff.
Overall, the stay is good and away from the busy areas. A 20 minute walk to the city is really nice in the morning but was too hot in the afternoon - can’t complain much because the view of the lake is just too amazing.

Not worth the money. 2 star service.
The hotel is not worth the money. The service is too loose. Upon check-in we were greeted by staff who just did not like their work. We arrived at 13. Thinking as a Platinum member, we could get access to the room a little earlier. This is what you think is one of their advantages. Got to know the room wasn't ready. Fair enough. I asked them to call when it was ready, so we could spend the time on a walk in town. They never called despite we did not meet other guests at the reception and that did not seem busy. At 15:30 we got back. Taked the chance and asked to the room. It was ready. The lady at the reception couldn't look more indifferent despite we agreed they had to call or write.
Asked for an upgrade - also for own payment. Nothing could be done, despite the possibilities if you looked at what was available via the app. Service level is zero. She just didn't like her job. Got room 333.
When we got up to the room the lotion container was obviously empty. Called down and asked to get it filled. I could, but then I had to pick it up at the reception. Chromecast in the room didn't work either.

Maybe the Novotel we have stayed at with the lowest level of service.

One-nighter in Lugano
Only spent a night here so I did not check out the gym. Location was about a 20 minute walk from the lakefront & attractions. The immediate vicinity of the hotel did not have anything entertaining or scenic.
Room size was generous & bed was comfortable. The shower was in a tub with a high step-up & it took awhile to figure out the dials for hot/cold water and rain/handheld shower. Usual amenities but no iron
Heard some noises at different times during the night from other guests, which made me think of poor insulation...?
Bar & restaurant area was welcoming; breakfast buffet was just adequate. Kudos to the friendly & amusing staff
