A gem in the middle of nature - but with its own train station

We love this place; it is almost family-run, with very friendly and dedicated staff, nice rooms, and a delicious menu in the restaurant.
The hotel has long been something truly special. It is located in absolute tranquility and amidst nature on the way from Pontresina to the Bernina Pass. In fact, the main road does not even run directly past it; one must divert from it to reach the hotel. For this reason, the hotel has its own train station, regularly serviced by the RhB, providing excellent connections throughout the entire Upper Engadin.
And if one needs fresh air, one can reach the glacier tongue of the glacier of the same name on foot in 45 minutes. Here, one can wonderfully relax and recuperate - completely escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life

Morteratsch

Beautiful place and easy accessible trail up to the glacier area. We stayed in the newer building. Rooms where nice but it was very hot in the rooms. And hard to keep windows open as it became very cold outside at night. The service was not top notch... They where not really able to explain the menu in the restaurant and where quite ignorant when we complained about the rooms. Felt like the staff was new…

A dream stay: We had a very comfortable room with breathtaking views of the Bernina massif, enjoyed very tasty breakfasts and dinners and felt well looked after by the always helpful staff. We will come back with pleasure.

Come for over 20 years and I'm always thrilled by the family atmosphere and the great evening menu, the rooms, the location, the breakfast... Tipptopp in every way.
