Four seasons of St gallen

I returned to Metropol St gallen after 4 years of absence. This hotel I started staying in it since 25 years. The hotel now got renovated and it's a great choice and nothing is disappointing in this hotel. Although it's 3 stars but it's really like a small four seasons hotel in St gallen. Comfortable beds and nicely designed rooms and toilets. Very friendly owners who are a family and they manage the hotel by themselves. It's like being in your second home. Breakfast is great and everything is fresh and tastes great. I don't think there is a better option in St galllen. Highly recommended.

So far OK

At first glance, it's difficult to find the unmarked parking spaces, they're behind the building, not in the garage next door, another hotel. Very nice staff, unfortunately the rooms are very spartanly furnished... Small bed with a very small pillow, small TV, no HD picture. The shower only has a curtain, which is very unpleasant on the skin when showering.
The promised gym is not in the building (!) but 700m away... that's very inconvenient.. the breakfast was OK, nothing special but tasty

Clean and comfortable

I stayed here for one night in August 2018.
Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was pleasant and helpful. My room had a double bed, TV, desk, chairs and wardrobe. All pretty standard. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Hotel rooms are all on floors 4-6 (I think) and there is an elevator with key-card access to the accommodation floors.
Decent curtains that shut out the light were a definite plus.
Breakfast was included in my rate, and was a typical continental/Germanic breakfast: croissants, bread, cold meats, coffee, cereals.
My only gripe was that there was no AC, however this was during an extreme heatwave so perhaps it's not something they normally need.
Overall, basic but perfectly acceptable and clean accommodation,

Classic Favourite!!

Been travelling to Widnau for 7 years for business and have stayed in this hotel each time. The hotel has been maintained since then. The rooms are big and spacious and clean. Wifi reception and speed is excellent, the breakfast is wholesome and has lot of choices. The Thai restaurant on the top of the building is pricey but exceptionally good thai food. Just one suggestion, since the temperatures all over the world are increasing it can get hot in summers so would suggets installation of air conditioners. Nonetheless looking forward for the next stay.

superclean

Very clean hotel, rather basic equipment. Just one remark: the rooms are very hot. On top of the building a recommended thai restaurant. Hotel
is fully equiped with working wifi. The building has a certain age but well maintained. Breakfast is basic but ok.
