A hospitable viewing lodge above the Valais valleys

The Hotel and Restaurant Alpenblick is strategically located high above the Rhone Valley for the Valais parade regions around Matterhorn and Dom. But anyone who appreciates it only for it fails to appreciate the true qualities of this house and its friendly and competent host family: The Kenzelmanns run a traditional house that is as beautiful as it is functional, with great attention to detail and gastronomic class that reaches its peaks in breakfast and menus. In addition, the village of Zeneggen proves to be a viewing and relaxation lodge from which wonderful hiking tours can be Enterprised, such as those to the Mossalm. All in all: an absolute recommendation.

Staying at Hotel Alpenblick in Zeneggen was one of the most peaceful and heartfelt parts of my entire Swiss trip.
The hotel is located high up in the mountains, at around 1,370 meters above sea level, surrounded by pure nature and breathtaking alpine views. While the public transport is understandably limited due to the remote location, once you arrive, you’ll understand why it’s worth it.
The atmosphere is quiet, calming, and deeply rejuvenating. It’s the kind of place where you truly slow down and feel present. The staff were exceptionally kind and caring—they made me feel like part of their family, not just a guest. I’m especially grateful for how much they helped me during my stay.
The hotel’s interior is decorated with charming European touches that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a living art piece—cozy, elegant, and full of character. Breakfast was absolutely top-notch, with a rich and thoughtful spread every morning.
Of course, being in such close contact with nature means there might be a few insects and there’s no air conditioning—but for anyone who appreciates fresh mountain air and the natural world, this place is perfect.
Highly recommended for nature lovers, artists, or anyone needing a quiet mountain escape. I’m truly thankful to the entire team at Alpenblick for creating such a special experience.

The hotel was super clean, all staff incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a bus station near by to take you into the city. Breakfast every morning with a personal chef to cook whatever you desire. The food was delicious and accommodating.

Amazing Gem in the middle of the mountains in a tiny town with views, simple town activities, silence, peace in a immaculate small family hotel, with great views of landscape and snow peaks. Christophe chef is superb, great gourmet healthy food, friendly and works with the family to make you as comfortable as can be. Hikes to old Swiss mountain villages….
