Budget friendly hostel

Yes Kaosan is located at the heart of Khao San Road. If you like to part, drink and food trip the hotel location is good for you. Budget friendly especially for budget travellers. We can hear the sound from the outside bars to our room, linens and sheets are not in good condition and cool aircon atleast.

DON’T STAY HERE

It was a really bad experience for us.
We didn’t like it from the beginning because all the staff there were unfriendly. Before we got there, we always thought Thai people were very nice, friendly in general but the staff at the hotel disappointed us a lot.
The hotel didn’t have elevator and they gave us a room on the 4th floor, there was no one to help us to carry our luggage so we had to do by ourselves.
And We didn’t expect a very nice room cuz it was cheap but it needed to be CLEAN and NOT SMELLY at least BUT it’s just what we expected. When we just opened the door, we almost threw up because of its smell and also the smell from the lobby. Our bed was full of hair and we didn’t even dare to use the blanket.
The bathroom was tiny and disgusting. It was moldy and looked so creepy. There was even no where to hang the towels.
I will recommend people not to stay at this hotel. NEVER!!!

Not that good

First off all the location was very good and rooms where clean. Also the setup was ok
For me was not that kind hotel where to stay even when it was only 10 usd.
The beds where very small and bad
The aircon didn’t had a remote to adjust
The showers didn’t have something to put your clothes on
It was noisy at nigh till 03:30 and started 06:00 again
The staff didn’t was present when I had to check in

It's ok for a budget hotel

Cons
The fan room is absolutely boiling and the mattress is plastic so it's the worst night sleep you could get.
The noise in the fan room from khason road was insane.
There are windows to the corridors so the room didn't get dark when you wanted to sleep
The air con room bed was very firm but standard for Asia.
Only one plug socket in the room

The air con room was a bit quieter
The air con was really good
The showers were good both the normal and heated.
Clean bathrooms
All in all its an ok hotel if you are on a budget and want to be near the madness of the strip. The hotel could do with a better communal area.

Poor Service

This hostel has no lift at all so you need to take the stairs without considering if you have a child or your parents with you. What worse is they gave us another room saying they are fully booked so they gave us a 5th floor room, i think its a service area were they do the laundry and staff room that was so rude!!!! We paid for a proper room but just gave us another room since we arrived at late night but not acceptable at all. Receptionist not so friendly, no lift at hostel, they gave us bunk beds but booked a private room. Worse hostel we ever booked!!!
