Authentically beautiful Thai accommodation

This was a great little find when I was looking on booking.com. The hotel is inside the gate, which was perfect and about a 5 min walk from Tha Pae Gate. This is probably a budget hotel, but for us it was used as a base to explore Chiang Mai so it did just as well needed. As soon as you step foot outside you get to experience the Lanna architecture which draws you in. A beautiful authentic Thai hotel, with great staff. We had a family room which was by far the biggest room we had on our trip. Twin bed for the children in a separate part of the room separated from us by a curtain. We were roadside, so it was a bit noisy but we were so tired from exploring that it didn’t affect us. The bathroom was insane! Two toilets, two showers, which was perfect for our teens. The hotel is close to everything, we were no more than a 5/10 min walk from anywhere but to be honest grab is so cheap that we just did that everywhere, which was especially useful with 90 degree heat. There is a great massage place across the road (Lanna) and we had some great foot massages there.
We used the laundry and pool during our stay. The washing/ drying machines are a bit temperamental. The pool again was not big but did just what was needed on a sweltering day.
Oh and the Sunday night market is literally the road behind the hotel so we didn’t have to walk far.
One star deducted for the beds. They were literally rock hard. We are aware that Thai people prefer a hard mattress but this was like sleeping on floorboards.

Great location and lovely staff. The bed was comfortable but the lights in the room were a bit dim for our liking. Very clean and the bed linen was very soft.

Great room, very clean, fantastic staff, a wonderful little pool, located around the corner from ATMs and a 7-Eleven, in between great massage parlors, in the very heart of Old City. VERY easy parking for scooters, just pull right up to the entrance.

Great stay, especially considering the price, with laundry, a small but elegant pool, and even a gym. My first room had no view and may as well not have had a window, but the staff were immediately accommodating and switched me to a nicer one. Very clean, and extremely well centrally located in the heart of Old City.
