Lovely place
Stayed for two nights in a suite and deluxe room with friends. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. Had a fridge, microwave and a sink in the balcony to do some hand washing. Receptionist that we saw had excellent English and was very helpful. There was a little street noise but nothing that kept us awake. Not too far to the old quarter and to hire motorbikes. Will stay here again after doing the Mae Hong Son Loop!

Puri Puman review:
Well took off from my condo in Bangkok for a few days up north in ChiangMai. kind of get out of town. So I found the strange named apartment, that would not bankrupt my account.
OK the room was OK, a/c was great and need was big an
d firm. Do not like soft bed. We had lots of warm water and bathroom just fine.
Staff was courteous and attentive. Now one big complaint not one English channel TV to watch. Big issue for me, I am old.
I would recommend this place but will not come back!

Great for the price
The Puri Piman is a mid-sized apartment rental complex, with 3 apartment sizes, on a relatively quiet street (a bit hard to find, but very near the Wat Kutao). I stayed for 3 nights. Wifi worked ok. Rooms are clean and well-kept, with windows. The shower is conveniently separated from the toilet area. On the first floor there is a laundry area, and a water dispenser that gives drinking water for 1 baht/liter! No pool or fitness room, nor lobby as such.
There is an attached 'Salad Terrace' restaurant which is popular and serves very large, fresh salads with a choice of 5 dressings, as well as cooked food (closed on Weds.).
The location is in a non-touristy university/student area, about 20 minutes walk north of the Old City. There are street stalls nearby, a 7/11, and a very large night market with many food stalls/restaurants, with excellent and cheap thai food; otherwise there are no 'upscale' restaurants in the area. Red songteos can be found for transport within about 5 minutes walk; taxis are scarce, but can be arranged by the desk (200 baht to the airport).

Its pretty good
Its pretty good, the room was clean, no western channels on the TV, bed was above average, bathroom above average. Price could be a little cheaper, but its acceptable. No pool, and no gym that I noticed. I think it might have had a restaurant inside but we never went and checked it out. The front desk closes at 9pm, which can be an annoyance if you need something.

Very nice place and very nice people!
Stayed here for about 3 weeks in April 2013 -
The rooms (we had one suite and one medium room) were very clean! The showers have a separator wall from the toilet (which is not the most common thing in Thailand even in costly guesthouses) which was nice, too. The cleaning service is very good, new towels everyday, new sheets and pillows, and they actually organize your things on the tables and desks. By the way, they do have a lot of table space in each room. If you get a suite, there is a couch and an entry area, which was kind of fancy for us, haha. Both rooms we had actually had the same accommodations (same size bathroom, big fridge, microwaves, table, desk, tv, etc). Not much outside noise to interrupt our sleep, either, which was a big plus.
The two women we see at the front desk the most are VERY friendly and helpful. Also the security gentlemen typically in the parking area are friendly as well.
All in all, this was a nice stay. We have a motorbike so it is hard to say how far away of a walk it would be to or from anywhere, but it is not impossibly far from something like 7-11 or Tops Market. A walk to a restaurant inside Old City may be a bit long during hot season, but otherwise I don't think it would be too bad (get a motor bike anyway if you can! So much to see in just a 5-10 minute ride in Chiang Mai!).
If we come back to CM and need a place to stay we will definitely look into Puri Piman first!
