Simple hotel with all necessary amenities at the edge of adventure.
Seen many videos of a lake with a sea of lotuses in Phatthalung. This lake, called Thale Noi is located about 26km from Phatthalung town and it is advantages to have personal transport when visiting the area. While preparing our itinerary, we decided to hire a car from Hatyai and drive to and stay at Thale Noi area. We did our hotel booking online and stayed at Chuanchom resort Thale Noi. We stayed two nights and booked 2 rooms for the three of us.
We arrived at the hotel in the evening around 5pm. As we reach nearby, we passed on our left, a ‘Mini C’ outlet and a ‘7 -Eleven’ outlet just before the traffic light. As we headed about 500 meters down the road from the traffic light, it turned to the left along the lake. About another 150meters from this turning, there is within the row of shops on the left, a public toilet with a blue roof where you are supposed to turn left again into an alley just before the toilet.. You will find the hotel about 10 meters down the alley, on your right.
This small set up consists of a number of Chalets. Parking space for the car was available right in front of our chalet. Check in was fast. The room was spacious with a queen size bed. The bed was soft and we slept well. There is a rack, to hang cloths and a fridge with complimentary water bottles. A TV was mounted to the wall. The bathroom had hot water shover. The air-condition was functioning well and the WIFI was fair.
On the outside, there is a balcony with table and stools. You can sit here to enjoy the fauna and flora. You can have breakfast in the balcony area or in the room.
Breakfast included bread, scrambled eggs, jam, fruits and coffee. Our host helped us to arrange a boat tour on the Thale Noi the next morning and a guide came to the hotel at 530 am to walk us to the pier.
As planned, we found the location of this hotel perfect for our trip. It was across the road from the lake and a short walk to the pier from where the tour boats depart. There are at least three restaurants in the vicinity, with one located just next to the hotel. There are a number of other small outlets selling drinks and various local delicacies in the vicinity. The 7-Eleven is 800 meters away on the road leading to the resort. The Thale Noi floating market is 1.6km away. There is also a hair saloon right across the resort.
The owner lady, is a plus point to the setup, being very helpful of your needs. To sum it up, a simple hotel with all the necessary amnesties, located right at the edge of the lake. Value for money. Will stay there again during future trips.

Simple but Cozy Hotel in an Excellent Location
The hotel offers a number of standalone cozy bungalows in a wonderful location within several minutes walk from the lake. The territory is quiet and peaceful. Wonderful sea food restaurant is just next door. The owner Khun Orn is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple however quite clean and comfortable. The hotel is also pet friendly.

Basic but comfortable
Basic Thai style bungalow, simple but comfortable. The room had a queen bed, desk, clothes rack, dressing table, fridge, small TV (I didn't turn it on), and a wet style bathroom with hot shower. The front porch had a table with stools. Wifi was average strength and speed, ended up tethering to my phone for some extra speed. The host was great. She spoke English well and helped me to arrange a boat tour of Thale Noi. Breakfast was included and was a choice of western style or Thai style. I chose Thai style, which was a bowl of delicious porridge, along with coffee, bananas, and little fried donuts. Parking on site, right in front of the bungalow. Perfect location, just across the road from the lake and a short walk to the pier where tour boats depart. In summary, a basic accommodation, great host, great location, good value room.

Great Staff / Location
We were in Thale Noi for a Business Convention at the national park. We chose not to stay at the accomodation within the park and looked for a great room nearby. We found it at Chuanchom Resort and would definatly stay again.

False advertising
This was listed as a 5 star Resort & a 'luxury deal'.
Very hard to find & when we did we wished we hadn't. No coffee or tea, not even a glass for water. Not a rubbish bin. Not much nearby. No evidence of the free bikes.
