Great hotel
Great hotel with super staff! The cheapest room was paid for, but the staff, seeing my sore legs and our age, put us in a villa on the 1st floor at no extra cost. It's only possible in Thailand! Remembered as one of the best hotels of our lives...

Quiet Hotel In Railay
Avatar is an adults only hotel in Railay East Beach (the name is a bit of a misnomer, there is no beach on the east side but rather a mangrove swamp). The hotel is close to the Raily East Beach floating pier, as well as to a number of restaurants and bars on that side. Given the relative size of Railay, you can still easily walk to all of the main attractions in Railay within 15-20 minutes. I recently went with friends and I booked a room with a private pool and they booked a double. The hotel is cute, and offers free breakfast, but it is very much a laidback island vibe in terms of service. We arrived early in the morning and our rooms weren’t yet ready – not a problem, but when they were ready, they lumped our belongings together and we tried to explain that we were not all staying in the same room, eventually they broke off and separated our luggage, but it left us confused and trying to chase down staff – also they ignored us trying to explain this detail to them. Also, no introduction to the room or the amenities in the room – which would have been nice, especially because I had booked one of the best rooms. Due to the fact that the resort is for adults only there are of course no children, and I found that the resort was therefore very quiet – which was a highlight. My friends complained that the AC in the room didn’t work well, but I am not sure that they brought it to the hotel’s attention. AC in my room worked well however. Overall, at the price point I would say that the hotel is decent, but it’s definitely a solid 3-star level property – and if you do not mind being around children, then there are other properties in the vicinity that are probably worth checking out before you make your decision. When I made the reservation, I was only able to book through a third party website, which meant full prepayment with no refund– so keep that in mind as well. TIP: Plan to travel from Am Nam Mao pier as the boats from there go directly to Railay East floating pier– if you come from Aonang you will be dropped off on Railay West beach which means dragging yourself and your luggage through the water and the sand. 3/5

Wonderful stay - didn’t want to leave
Absolutely loved our stay here and we were so sad to leave. The trip was a present for my husband’s 40th birthday but also fell across our wedding anniversary, they left a beautiful welcome message on the bed for us which was very much appreciated.
The room was stunning, we had a private pool, 1 bed villa and it was so much nicer than even the pictures suggest. The pool was beautiful, saw a few monkeys run past on one day but luckily not too much during our stay (they made me nervous so I was happy they didn’t show up too much haha). It is cute to see them though.
The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive when we wanted it and left us alone when we selected do not disturb. One of the staff waved at us with a big smile every time we walked past the front office room which we thought was really sweet.
Breakfast choice was good and tasty. We had a welcome drink at check in and then another complimentary drink on the way out, as we were invited to sit in the office to cool down from the heat whilst we figured out our onward travel plans.
The water and toilet roll for the room was always topped up without us having to ask for it and fresh towels etc when needed.
We would 100% book this resort again if we ever go back to Railay. We loved it!

Good breakfast
Nice hotel with no direct beach location. The pool is a little cramped.
Rooms are clean and large with comfortable beds. Breakfast really good with great choice.
For two to three nights I can recommend the hotel.

Hotel very good
Hotel correct. On the ground floor direct access to the pool from the bedroom. Shallow pool about 1m50 but nice. Because otherwise uninteresting beaches and crowded like the shopping street. Too bad. Nice staff, perfect breakfast. We also had dinner there a sister very well
