Beautiful property right by a quiet beach
The property - beautiful grounds ,several gorgeous pools (including one Olympic sized pool) around, well maintained landscape , overall very pleasant
The room - I was assigned room 226, which has a view of the pools . The room was fine - clean , comfortable, good showers , plentiful supply of drinking water
Breakfast - very very good. The restaurant where breakfast is served has a nice ocean view, and there was a good variety of both western and Asian dishes, as well as a great variety of tropical fruits
The staff - all very pleasant
Service - all very good except for their money changing service . The hotel does provide money changing service , but it appeared that the staff would find every reason to not accept any US bank notes - one US $100 bill I tried to exchange had a serial number that is too old , a $50 bill had a tiny tear , and another $50 note had a tiny inked mark that was considered unacceptable. The hotel should just not provide money changing service and refer guests to nearby money exchange booths , which are plentiful and which provide better rates than the hotel anyway …

Disappointing – Appalling Service”.
The hotel’s organization feels more like a campsite than a 5-star establishment. Everything is complicated, controlled and becomes a discussion with the guest, even for things that should be completely normal in a hotel of this category.
For example, you are given two cards: one to leave in the room to activate the electricity and another to enter and exit the room. In the end, you can only keep one. If you ask for an additional card, you are clearly told that you must return three cards at check-out, otherwise you will be charged 100 baht per card. Charging 100 baht for a simple plastic card is outrageous. I have never seen anything like this in any hotel.
The same problem applies to the pool towels. You are given two per room, and if you need dry towels, if you forgot yours, or if housekeeping simply forgot to leave them in your room, getting a towel becomes almost an investigation. On one occasion, housekeeping forgot to put pool towels in our room. I sent my children to ask the pool staff for some, and they were turned away twice.
I therefore went myself to explain the situation. The staff member practically made me feel like a liar, asking me if I was really sure there were no towels in my room and telling me that he would check. I explained that I was going to report the situation to reception and asked for his name. He refused to give it to me, completely ignored me and walked away.
Seriously, how can a guest be treated this way over a simple pool towel? This is a service included in the stay, not something that should have to be negotiated or justified.
Overall, the staff are very unfriendly, with the exception of the restaurant staff. The rest make you feel as though you are dealing with robots, and above all as though you are staying for free and they are doing you a personal favor.
The worst part is the staff responsible for the “sports activities” — if we can even call them that. The hotel sells its rooms with sports packages, and in our experience this was a huge disappointment. The staff are arrogant, condescending and, above all, extremely rude. Some of their behavior is incredibly aggressive and completely lacking in basic manners.
One example: my daughter was simply playing in the pool with her sister. She was going underwater, coming back up and waving to her sister. A lifeguard came over to me and asked what my daughter wanted from him. I explained that she was simply playing with her sister and was not talking to him at all. Yet he kept insisting that she was looking at him and waving at him. I do not see how he could possibly know this, as she was wearing dark, tinted swimming goggles and he was about six meters away from her.
I repeatedly explained that she was playing with her sister, that she was eight years old and that she was not addressing him. Despite this, he continued standing in front of me, repeatedly saying that he wanted to know what she wanted. I eventually became frustrated and asked him what more he wanted me to say and why he could not simply leave us alone when I had already explained the situation. He eventually walked away without apologizing and continued giving us dirty looks.
And this is just one example among many others.
I reported all of this to a manager, but apart from telling me that she would speak to the people involved, I did not feel any genuine willingness to take my complaint seriously, offer any compensation, or even try to improve our stay.
We had booked two rooms at this hotel and we deeply regret our choice.
Another major disappointment is the way the hotel presents itself as an establishment offering numerous sports activities, including a climbing wall. In reality, there are only two climbing sessions per week, with just six places available for the entire hotel. Needless to say, you need an incredible amount of luck to get a spot. Presenting this as a genuine sports offering is very misleading.
In summary: a beautiful, brand-new hotel with excellent facilities, but a terrible guest experience. The facilities may be worthy of a 5-star hotel, but the service, organization and, above all, the attitude of some members of staff are very, very far from that standard. We are extremely disappointed with our stay.

Greed Over Hospitality: A Luxury Resort That Prioritized Revenue Over Its Guests
The first red flag was the hidden charges. I’m not referring to minibar or in-room items. Those are expected. I’m referring to service charges added to restaurant bills that were never clearly disclosed beforehand. There was no clear mention of these charges on the menu or before ordering, and they only appeared when the bill arrived. Whether a service charge is applied or not isn’t the issue. Transparency is. A luxury hotel should never surprise its guests with additional charges after the fact.
The same mindset became obvious throughout the stay. The hotel charges guests for bottled water, but once you’ve paid for it, you’re not even allowed to take the bottle back to your room. Imagine paying for something and then being told you can’t take it with you. It makes absolutely no sense and perfectly reflects the kind of guest experience this hotel provides.
The dining policies were even more frustrating. The hotel clearly wants guests to eat exclusively at its restaurants, yet the menu offers very few reasonably priced options. The few affordable dishes listed were repeatedly unavailable, conveniently leaving only the more expensive choices. On top of that, there are almost no vegetarian or vegan options.
If the hotel cannot provide suitable or reasonably priced food and you decide to order from outside, you’re then charged 100 THB just for an empty plate and cutlery. Charging guests for an empty plate to eat food they’ve already paid for elsewhere isn’t hospitality. It feels like another attempt to discourage guests from dining outside and push them into spending more money at the hotel.
Even basic hygiene amenities have been compromised. Under the banner of “hygiene” and being “environmentally friendly,” the hotel has reduced or removed items that should be standard at any luxury resort. Towels are limited, dental kits and other essential amenities are not readily provided, yet guests continue paying luxury prices. It felt less like a genuine sustainability initiative and more like another cost-saving exercise where guests receive less while paying the same premium rates.
The incident that completely destroyed our confidence in this hotel happened at around 1:00 AM. My wife unexpectedly got her period, so we called the front desk hoping they could provide a sanitary pad or at least help us locate one. Shockingly, the hotel didn’t have sanitary pads available for guests. Even worse, the staff couldn’t understand what we were asking because of the language barrier. We tried explaining in several different ways, but nobody could help us. Instead of receiving support during a simple emergency, we were forced to leave the resort in the middle of the night searching for sanitary pads. This was the moment we realized that when guests genuinely need help, hospitality simply isn’t there.
Unfortunately, the communication problems weren’t limited to that incident. Several staff members struggled to understand or communicate in basic English, making even routine requests unnecessarily frustrating. For a luxury resort that welcomes international guests, this is a serious shortcoming.
Luxury isn’t defined by beautiful villas, infinity pools, or stunning views. Luxury is defined by hospitality. It’s about transparency, empathy, flexibility, and making guests feel valued. Sadly, throughout our stay, we felt exactly the opposite. We felt constantly nickel-and-dimed, restricted by unnecessary policies, and treated less like valued guests and more like a source of revenue.
It’s genuinely disappointing because this property has incredible potential. The scenery is breathtaking, but beautiful views cannot compensate for hidden charges, restrictive policies, overpriced dining with unavailable affordable options, compromised hygiene amenities, poor communication, and a complete lack of care when guests actually need assistance.
We left with one overwhelming impression: this hotel appears to prioritize maximizing revenue over delivering the level of hospitality that guests expect when paying luxury prices. There are many exceptional resorts in Thailand that understand true luxury is about making guests feel welcome, not making them feel like every convenience comes with another charge.
Unfortunately, this was not one of them.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your recent stay. We are sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations, despite your kind comments about the beauty of our property.
We understand that transparency is an important part of any hospitality experience. Regarding the service charge, we would like to clarify that the applicable service charge is clearly stated at the bottom of all our restaurant menus, in line with common practice throughout Thailand's hospitality industry. For this reason, we were surprised to read that it came as an unexpected charge. While we encourage international travelers to familiarize themselves with local customs and practices when visiting overseas destinations, we also continuously review how information is presented to ensure all guests can easily understand our policies.
We were also disappointed to read your comments regarding our dining experience. We would like to clarify that we offer a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, including organic homemade salads, soups, pizzas, and other plant-based options, many of which are as well available through our Beach Club menu. We are sorry if these choices did not meet your expectations.
Regarding the availability of certain dishes, our culinary team works closely with local suppliers and is committed to using fresh, seasonal produce whenever possible. As we are currently in Thailand’s rainy season, the availability of some fruits, vegetables, and specialty ingredients can occasionally be affected. While we make every effort to maintain our full menu selection, there may be occasions when specific seasonal items are temporarily unavailable. This reflects our commitment to providing fresh, locally sourced ingredients rather than any intention to limit guest choice.
Regarding the charge for plates and cutlery when guests bring outside food into the resort, we would like to clarify that this is a common practice in many hotels and resorts. Providing tableware, cleaning, and related service support involves additional operational costs for the property, and the applicable charge is intended to fairly cover these services. We fully understand that guests may choose to enjoy food from outside vendors, and our intention is not to restrict guest choice. However, as with many hospitality establishments, services provided by the resort require resources and support from our team, and we appreciate our guests’ understanding of these operational considerations. Actually, we could have requested paper plates and cutlery from the food vendors.
Regarding your comments about towels and in-room amenities, we would like to clarify that standard quantities of towels and pool towels in beach basket are provided in every room for guest comfort. The towel “reuse or wash me” signage display is part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, encouraging guests to participate in reducing unnecessary water, energy consumption, and environmental impact while maintaining guest comfort. Guests usually bring the pool towels with them to enjoy the sun loungers at pool areas. When you forgot, our pool staff would give you one. However, we kindly remind that pool towels are provided in the room.
With regard to dental kits and other single-use amenities, our approach reflects a wider global movement within the hospitality industry toward more responsible and sustainable practices. Governments and organizations around the world are introducing stronger environmental standards and encouraging businesses to reduce unnecessary single-use plastics. In response to these evolving expectations, many international luxury hotel groups have reviewed their amenity policies to minimize waste and reduce the environmental impact of unused products.
As part of this global transition, numerous five-star hotels and resorts now provide certain personal amenities, such as dental kits, upon request to waste reduction. Guests who require additional amenities are always welcome to contact our Front Desk team, and we are pleased to provide assistance whenever needed.
We are especially concerned to read about your experience during your late-night request for feminine hygiene products. We sincerely apologize that we were unable to provide the assistance you expected at that moment. Requests made during unexpected or urgent situations should always be handled with care and empathy, and we are reviewing our procedures to ensure our team is better prepared to support guests in similar circumstances.
Regarding your comments about communication, we hire most staff from local town who may not communicate perfect English. However, English is widely spoken by our front-of-house team, including our Front Office, Food & Beverage, and management teams, who are available to assist guests throughout their stay. It is possible that some of your interactions were with members of our housekeeping team, whose responsibilities do not require the same level of English proficiency. Nevertheless, we regret any frustration this may have caused and continue to provide training and support to our colleagues to improve communication across all departments.
Since arrival you informed that you work for a large OTA booking agent as your indication to get some extra service. We treat all guests with respect as equal as it is our service. In fact we contribute large sum of commission to your company without receiving any special treatment. We only receive AI service. On the other hand, you should be thankful for hotel industry and travel business.
Your comments regarding amenities, dining, communication, and service have been shared with the relevant department heads for review. Feedback such as yours helps us identify areas where we can continue improving.
Thank you again for your feedback. We value all guest comments and remain committed to continuously improving our services and hospitality standards.
We wish you and your wife all the best in your future travels.
Kind regards,
The Management Team
