A delightful holiday

The hotel is very nice, belongs to line 1. The hotel takes a $100 deposit, refundable at check-out. We had no problem getting our towels back, we didn't get our towels dirty and we didn't have to prove anything to anyone, washed or not.
The room is better requested on the even side, there is a balcony view of the mountain and a little view of the Big Buddha. The odd-sided windows only show the windows of the nearby hotel.
The room has everything: TV (reading video from flash drive), hairdryer, refrigerator, shampoo gel in large bottles, shared as used.
Cleaning every day, good.
Breakfasts are great: a dish of 2 eggs with ham or sausages, vegetables, toast, marmalade, chocolate cereal with milk, coffee/tea, juices (pineapple, orange), pineapples and watermelons. You can choose one of these, you can order everything. No problem.
Beach towels are taken outside the reception under painting and returned upon arrival at the hotel. Conveniently, you don't have to carry it to your room.
There's a small pool on the roof, but we've been there once. With the sea so posh, I don't want to sit by the pool.
Anyway, the hotel is great, you want to go back to it. By the way, Thailand is not the first time, there is something to compare.
The beach across the street. The sea is stunning, the sand is "squeaking," clear. On the left by the booth on the bend to the hotel - you can wash your feet from the sand.
For a massage went near the hotel, Thai 300 baht 1 hour, they say, closer to the ring - can be found for 250, but this one was near and late in the evening it was convenient.
Eating went to a large cafe on the square, near Karon Plaza, delicious and cheaper than anywhere else. Go right from the traffic control booth. There's a barter next to it, a profitable one.
Prices at the market near Caron Plaza are lower than from circle to temple. Bargain.
Shops: 7eleven also when turning right and 1 is right next to the hotel, but it is a little more expensive.

Possible deception by staff

Were at the hotel from March 2-13, 2026. The hotel itself is not the worst, in particular because of its location. Standard 3 stars. I'll only bet one for running into a hoax with bedding and an attempt to intimidate the police by the staff (or rather only one person who was sitting at the reception). Two days before we left, we changed our underwear, everything outside was clean. In the morning, a stain was found inside the lower right corner of the bed, where even the legs could not reach. The stain was old and washed, so they did not take anything, because the next day there was already a check-out from the hotel and wanted to just rest. When we were evicted, we were accused of soiling him and not even listening to our explanations, turning our backs on the screen with the interpreter defiantly, then threatening the police. I just stopped talking to them and informed the tour operator. The deposit was returned only after the payment of the 900 baht fine, and he spoke to us with extreme impoliteness and shouting. I travel a lot, but such a petty scam and the attitude of the staff came across the first time, read the reviews and it turns out I'm not the first in this hotel to fall for it. The sum of 900 baht is small for me, and if the dialogue was going well, I would have paid for it safely, even though it's not my fault. Also, we did not like the fact that we were not given a 3rd towel for the child (we asked the same employee who later hammed us and took a fine), a large number of bans: you cannot with some kinds of food, you cannot with your products on the pool (and in the restaurant prices are higher than in the whole district, beer 0.33 costs 100 baht and it is not even cold), everywhere hangs information about fines. . Just a couple of days before we left, guests were charged a ticket for allegedly breaking a shelf in the fridge. So be careful, there's a possibility of deception and there are some unpleasant people among Thais. Fortunately, otherwise, my vacation went well.

Hello, everyone! Holidayed with your spouse in December 2024, took a long time to choose a hotel, read reviews, they are as always contradictory. Stayed at the Grant Sunset Hotel. We got number 202. View of the wasteland and mountains. The side is sunny, that's a downside, but no one walked under the balcony, that's a plus. At night, the pitch really rattled into different voices, as someone wrote in the reviews, but it didn't stop us from sleeping. They give you one key, you leave and the air conditioning doesn't work anymore, which is a shame. It's not a big room, but it has everything you need. Safe, hairdryer, refrigerator, kettle. TV- there are three Russian channels. But we rarely watched it. The bed is large, not creaky))), the base is concrete and a large thick mattress. The bed and towels are clean. The shower was functioning properly, the water pressure is good. There was a problem with the water drain, made a request, corrected promptly. Cleaned our room every day, we put a sign on the door. Towels were changed daily (2 small 2 baths, 1 for feet) , the bed was changed, but how many times during the vacation I did not count. There were no complaints about the cleaning. They left chocolates, but I think the girls work fine without them. The staff is smiling. We got a $100 deposit on the way out without a problem. True, we checked everything on arrival and during the rest. The TV remote was cracked. Found and reported to the front desk, replaced. Lid on the toilet in strange divorces- photos taken at reception. The door from the inside in the area of the castle is cracked,,photo and report, absolve yourself of responsibility so that there are no claims against us later.We did not get dirty, glasses did not break.
As for the food... This is not Turkey, don't expect plenty. There's not much variety, but you can't go hungry. Two years ago, they were vacationing at the Old Phuket Hotel (it's in front of Grand Sunset), so that's where the food was worse. And in general, I want to wish to see in everything a positive and ignore the little things, pros and cons are everywhere.
On the second day, guide Adele came to meet us. On the first meeting and the flight back reported to Wotsapp, timely.Nice guy, chatted about the case and without imposing excursions.
We took tours outside. Went to Siam Niramit. I'm not saying I'm totally thrilled, but I can watch it once. Going to Hanuman World Park, that's what I liked best. Took the A+ program . Lots of zipline platforms, suspension bridges and a roller (that was too much for me). Meals are a buffet. Transfer included. I recommend this tour for outdoor enthusiasts.
Beach and sea. Love Karon Beach. Wide coastline. Sunbeds 100 baht per person. They're taking it out, but if the campers were taking out the bottles and stuff, it would be cleaner. The sea was met with different things. More often than not, there were quiet days. If you want style, visit the nearby Kata beach, there is a quieter sea. The weather was lucky, it only rained at night. Active sunshine days were few, more often cloudy, for me that's a plus, the sun in Thai is very active. Be sure to use cream with at least 50 protection.
The hotel on the ground floor has a cafe called Alenka. When they really missed Russian food, they went there.
In general remained rest satisfied, which we wish you)))!!!

Place is a scam - the towel scam is very real. They tried to pull it on us on checkout. Knowing it would likely happen we gave extra thirty minutes to check out and yell at the staff until they turned over our 6,000 baht. Why would I want to steal a face cloth 😂. Stay clear of this place - lots of better options
