Amazing hostel

We were originally meant to stay at Sociatel for 5 days and ended up staying two full weeks—which honestly says it all. As a couple, we experienced both the dorm rooms and private rooms, and had no issues with either. Everything was comfortable, clean, and well taken care of.
What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the staff—especially the DJs Anchol, RJ, Saw, Fluke, and Bowe. They are some of the most accommodating, kind, and genuinely caring people we’ve met while traveling. They made us feel so welcome and are the main reason we kept extending our stay. Staff like this are rare these days and should absolutely be treasured.
The drinks and happy hours are great value for money, and we highly recommend checking out Kitten Club. The DJs are amazing and will definitely get you up on your feet. It’s a shame it isn’t busier down there because it has huge potential and such a great vibe.
We will 100% be back, thanks to these incredible staff members. Looking forward to seeing you all again—hopefully very soon!

The receptionist was fully aware of our presence but simply didn’t look up or acknowledge us while she messed about with some laundry bags. Inexcusable.
The room was very small - going to the toilet was like doing in front of someone in the living room. Very noisy affecting

Violent security

Me and a friend were at the hostel. And then we sent out drinking and when we came back we smoked a cigaret in the outside area of the hostel. Then we Walked to burgerking and then the Security guard of the hostel had followed us all the way to burgerking (400 meters Down the street). And then he just punched me in the back of my head and walked back to the hostel without saying anything. So wierd. And the hostels pool area and stuff is trash.

Not for solo travellers

DO NOT STAY HERE IF TRAVELLING SOLO. I ignored the other reviews saying this. I have no comment on the hotel staff. The rooms were very small and cramped. The general vibe is unfriendly and it is hard to make friends as a solo traveller. I left this hostel early due to feeling so uncomfortable here. I wish that I had not ignored the warning signs. It is also a more expensive hostel and I feel I wasted my money. There are definitely better and more friendly hostels to stay In Koh Samui. I would not stay again.

I’m writing this review to prevent other people from making the same mistake I did.
Starting at 11:00 PM, the music from the bar next door was so loud that I could clearly hear the lyrics and feel the bass vibrating in my room. My room was supposedly at the far end of the building, away from the bar, yet the noise was unbearable. The music continued until 6:00 AM. Sleeping was simply impossible.
I contacted the front desk, and the staff confirmed that I could check out early and that I would receive a full refund, since I had booked multiple nights. At that point, I thought they were handling the situation professionally.
However, right after I left, they rented my room to another tourist right in front of me, and I never received the refund they promised.
This behavior is dishonest and extremely unprofessional.
If you are looking for a place where you can actually sleep and rest, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. Between the extreme noise at night and the broken promise of a refund, this was a terrible experience that I would not wish on anyone.
