Very special hotel with a unique look

A very special hotel that lives up to its name. We had a room with balcony facing the street. It is tip top clean and cozy furnished. The courtyard is beautiful and everything has a special charm. If you are looking for a change from the usual hotel style, you will feel wonderfully comfortable here.

Not recommend and overpriced

I stayed here for one evening. The hotel is in a nice location and I liked it because it is a historic building. However, the hotel is overpriced for the conditions and services. There are many hotels in the location that are in much better condition and provide better breakfast at a more affordable price.
I stayed there because I was told the room was quiet and the breakfast included fresh brewed coffee, and as the manager/ower told me when I checked in. I actually asked her two times. She was dishonest with me.
In reality, the room was small and very noisy as it faced a courtyard and there were loud noise until midnight and then very early in the morning the staff made loud noise at 6am as they prepared breakfast. The breakfast was ac2 star rating not very good and there was no coffee as promised. They had very bad instant powered coffee that was not something one would expect at a hotel that claims to be at the standard and at the price for that location. They told me that if I wanted coffee for breakfast, I would have to pay extra for it.
I was not impressed with the management, and I felt that the owner was not honest when I booked into the hotel. It was a disappointing stay and I have been travelling throughout Thailand for many weeks and I have had only very positive experiences. This was not a hotel I would recommend.

Serene beautiful heritage oasis

We stayed one night at Sangthong Heritage Hotel while on our bicycle journey. This special property is located in the center of town and within view of an amazing temple. The building, a 70-year-old family hotel has been lovingly restored by a third-generation family member. What we liked: + charming inner courtyard + great lounge in the front to sit and read in + extremely comfortable bed with premium white linens + attention to detail with room amenities not seen in other properties +++ Very gracious and helpful host

Economy accommodation with character

Location is right in the center of town, walking distance from Wat Phrathat Phanom and the Maekhong river. It's an old link-house that has been renovated. It is not posh but an economy accommodation that is heavily decorated to be like a Thai colonial house with a courtyard. Only around 10 rooms. The lobby has many sitting areas and the owner boasts that every angle is a selfie opportunity. Set breakfast is all right for Thai standard. There is a small little "mad dog" in the lobby that sometimes barks incessantly at guests without reason. Next door is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant.

small hotel but cozy like home, host is friendly, courtyard like small town in Europe.
in lobby and cafe has good coffee and cakes, basic breakfast. Near That Phanom Temple, 200 m from Mekong River. It's good location
