A surprise

Small family run hotel. No lift, small room small double bed one side against a wall! But all that said, it was spotlessly clean, I had my first full nights sleep in Taiwan and the bathroom was equipped with a shower that did not make me feel like an idiot. So all in all good for a one night stop.

Pleasant Hotel, Conveniently Located

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during our recent tour of Taiwan . The hotel was conveniently located for all the areas we wished to visit. The rooms, though basic were large and spotlessly clean. A large en-suite bathroom with wet-room style shower. This hotel is typical of Taiwan hotels and provided all the facilities we required. Recommended.

Nice Lodging to/from Penghu Island

There is almost nothing in the Budai Township, and we were only here for the night to catch a ferry the next day to Penghu Island. We rode the train from Tainan to the Xinying stop and the owner of the hotel will pick you up from the Xinying station for NT$120 per person (it's a half an hour ride). There is also a bus that goes into the town from the Xinying station but it takes longer.
The hotel itself is clean and the room decor is cute. There is a large refrigerator in the stairwell for guests to use.
We got there around dinner time and wanted dinner and the hotel owner pointed us to this seafood restaurant (out the hotel, make a left and walk down several hundred meters). The food was just so-so and we paid $2,000 for not a lot of food. I was disappointed that he didn't mention that if we had turned right from the hotel, there are mom and pop shops that sells the typical rice/noodle dishes for very cheap. (I'd rather have had that). If you turn right out the hotel you'll also eventually hit a FamilyMart as well as two tea/juice establishments.
For whatever reason they only provide small towels for bathing. They do have large ones available --- you just have to ask for it.
The hotel owner will drive you to the Budai ferry building for a small cost as well.
