A hidden gem!

A small boutique villa with a one minute walk to endless white sand beaches and numerous beachfront dining spots. Large immaculately clean rooms with comfortable king size beds. Complimentary breakfast with delicious lunch/dinner options. Sameer (manager) was extremely kind and helpful. He even sourced a wedding gift for me! I had the pleasure of spending time with the owners. Their warmth and hospitality radiated in all their staff. Whether you are single, a couple or a family (they have 2 x 2bedroom rooms that accommodate families) if you are looking for a quiet, safe place to relax, this is it!

The worst experience with hotels ever

I stayed at this villa in January. For three nights in a row, there were electricity shutdowns during the night. The property has no generator for the rooms, so the air conditioning did not work at night, even though the outside temperature was over 30°C.
After three sleepless nights, we were forced to move to another hotel. We informed both the hotel management and Booking.com about the situation. The hotel manager assured me that I would receive a refund; however, I never received any money back. Considering that the booking was for nine nights, this was a significant amount.
Booking.com was also unable to help resolve the issue. I am shocked by the unprofessional behavior of both the hotel and Booking.com.
On top of that, there is no direct access to the beach, unlike most beachfront hotels in Zanzibar.

Beautiful and friendly place

Amazing location to stay. Quite area just 1 minute from a beautiful beach with white sand and nice bars and restaurants on the beach. Staff is fantastic, friendly, kind. The manager is really helpful recommending places to visit and beaches to see. Very clean rooms, food is really tasty. Familiar and welcoming atmosphere

Very nice quiet hotel

The small hotel in the second row from the beach we liked very much. The room and the associated terrace were very large. There were great storage areas for luggage and clothes. Everything was very clean. It was very quiet - both in the complex and in the village. Matemwe is a quiet place, there is not much going on. You are quickly on the beach, where unfortunately there are quite a few sea urchins, but you can make great snorkeling trips to Mnemba.
The staff at Sunny Villa were very friendly. Nasrin is particularly noteworthy. She was great. The dinner also tasted very good to us. Also to be praised is the late check-out time (12:00 p.m.). We liked it very much overall. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, Sunny Villa is in good hands.
Nevertheless, we would have the following criticisms/suggestions for improvement:
- Breakfast was very simple and boring.
- The tap water smells very unpleasant.
- In the bathroom there could be more shelves and hooks.

Fabulous

Undoubtedly the best Inn in Zanzibar in our eyes.
A more than perfect welcome, Nacera was very caring with us. A beautiful young lady, as beautiful as nice
The boss took the time to chat with us every day and made sure everything was okay for us. Very helpful, kindness that warms the heart.
The Pension itself is just dazzling, the beds very comfortable, the rooms spacious right in front of a pool ideal for our children.
What about the food, we feasted! It was really excellent! A special mention for chapati and coconut curry.
We will gladly return to this Pension if the opportunity arises.
