Go there without hesitation!!
A special mention to Lucie, who speaks French and advised me to go to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life, and who always made sure that everything went well for me!
- Impeccable hygiene! The staff constantly sweeps the area around the pool, the rooms are cleaned every day, and the housekeepers clean thoroughly down to the smallest detail, like the windows, and this happens every day!
- The location, right in the center of Paje, there is a store with all the essentials just a few meters away. Shops where you can buy your souvenirs, a multitude of restaurants in the vicinity.
- The little touches such as an umbrella, shower gel, and shampoo available, bath and beach towels, hairdryer.
- The prices are more than affordable; $15 for a very large bag for laundry, $40 for one-hour massages, and the restaurant prices are low (for $10 you will eat!).
- The breakfast included in the stay with a wide choice on the menu (fresh fruit juice, sweet and savory)
- The pool facing the sea and access to the Zula hotel pool (they are the same owners)
- With a bit of luck, you will see monkeys!
- ATM and currency exchange outside the hotel but really not far away.
I highly recommend this hotel and I leave with a heavy heart...

Extraordinary
The setting is beautiful and magical.
We have been with the family several times before and we return with pleasure each time to this hotel.

Great stay. Genuine environmental efforts
What genuinely moved me was the environmental commitment. As a frequent traveller to Zanzibar, I know how hard it is to be authentically green on this island without it becoming mere ‘greenwash’. Mahali is doing the real work: glassware repurposed from wine bottles, beautiful products from Chako (a local social enterprise), permaculture features, and a clear effort to eliminate single-use plastic.
Nobody gets it 100% right, but the intention is clear and the effort is visible. That matters to those of us who truly love this island.

Best Kite School in Paje
He certainly has the best material (Duotone), all new - incredible. All the equipment, boards, foils, etc. at its finest. When you do a training there is a helmet which has a professional radio - which works great!
I can only recommend everyone to visit this kite station - top material, very good instructors and a cool owner where you feel welcome!
