Best place

I love this place! The room is very nice and it has a fan on the ceiling. There is warm water (water pressure is not the best) and mosquito net around the bed. Its a 5 min walk to one of the most beautiful beaches and it feels very safe (unlike Stown Town). The breakfast is amazing and Ahmed is very helpfull. Even when I already left the place they offered their help for arranging trips from other parts of the island.
10/10 would recommend and I will definitely come back when I come to Zanzibar again.

Ok for a night's stay or if you are ok to rough it a bit.

I stayed here on an overnight trip to the North of the island. I felt a bit disappointed as I know the hosts were trying very hard but the rooms are really a bit dirty and in the rooms we stayed in, there was only a piece of cloth covering the door to the bathroom which was a bit awkward! When we first arrived, the water in the faucet smelled just awful... bad enough to wake your dead grandma! Then water was on and off sporadically. It was an amazing jungle location but sorry, you really need to invest a bit of money and spruce the rooms up. No Internet at all and the fridge in the dining area is rusty on the outside which, while perhaps unfair, made me really hesitant to eat breakfast as I felt it wasn't a clean or fresh place. It was certainly cheap... so there you go. /-:

Quiet and friendly place

We enjoyed so much the stay, Mohamed, Ahmed and little Sahid, gave us the most nice welcome, asante sana, we recommend and we will be back. Very clean nice tropical breakfast, close to the beach bars restaurant and to the community. Very quiet place.

Fun and Different

Magharibi House is one of, if not the cheapest of places to sleep in Nungwi, so I hadn’t set very high expectations. But now I must say I was extremely pleased with this lodging place for several reasons:
1) the owner, Ahmad, is an excellent host and very personable, anxious to see to it that your stay is enjoyable. He gives great directions and unbiased information about surrounding restaurants and activities.
2) breakfast is delicious and all you can eat, made fresh for you by Abu, a very personable character. Includes a variety of fresh fruit in season, “doughnuts”, chapatis, eggs, and of course locally grown coffee and tea.
3) if you’re seeking an authentic local style room look no farther. I stayed in a Banda (hut) with a palm frond roof, bamboo lattice walls, and sand floor (mostly covered by mats). Fortunately there is a less traditional ceiling light and an electrical outlet.
4) only a 7-10 minute walk from the beach.
Cons: bathroom has no hot water and is separate from Banda, woodboring beetles in Banda wood, no sea view from Banda.

Good budget place to stay in Nungwi

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two nghts during our trip around Zanzibar. The owner and stuff was really nice people, very kind and the room was clean and had enough space. Breakfasts are good. The only thing that is missing is an air conditioning I would say but except for this everything else were more than fine considering the cost!
