Grand Gebze Hotel was very nice

I arrived late after 11 pm from the nearest airport shuttled in luxury van to the Grand Gebze Hotel. My driver's helped bring my luggage and the owner was behind reception desk. He was very kind and friendly. He advised me to go up to my room and get rest as I was exhausted from a long international flight and pay in the morning.
Staff is very nice and efficient. Accommodations was nice and comfortable. I recommend anyone to stay there for a peaceful rest and relaxation. There is a restaraunt and a bar inside. The breakfast is very good. I couldn't get enough of their fabulous buffet.
They will deliver from their menu directly to your room. I hope to return there once again for a peaceful rest.

Not so Grand

Another hotel for the danger list. Every electrician will tell you that the electrical circuits in hotels must be renewed every ten years. I didn't dare use my laptop.
The bathroom fittings were ancient and need replacing. The fridge didn't work and the air conditioning unit sounded as if it was dying. Air conditioning was open the window.
The restaurant food was quite good. The last three star hotel I stayed in was far grander and actually fulfilled the worldwide requirenents required to earn these stars.

Really nice hotel for 3 Stars!

Really nice hotel for 3 stars! Many hotels in Turkey with 4 stars hasn't this condition! The staff was excellent, the facilities were in a very good condition, the room was clean and spacious.The location it's not perfect, but for was ok, because we need to travel at Istanbul. But if you have the car, it's good, like us.
Good breakfast, but we don't like turkey breakfast:).
Free wifi!
negative: 150 from 170 of channels was for extra pay. Really bad beds :(.

Great hotel if you need a place for one night

The hotel is located far outside of Istanbul and is only an option either a a stop-over hotel enroute to Anatolia by car or if you need a place to stay between two flights out of SAW.
The hotel is fairly difficult to find and not well known so get a good map and/or direction in advance.
Rooms were smallish but very well furnished with TV and a great bathroom.
Staff was quite friendly and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had. Limited English is spoken by the reception.

Turkish Grand Prix 2011

Having stayed in Istanbul city centre before, we decided that the journey to Istanbul Park would be a nightmare. After consulting the traveller's bible (Tripadvisor) we booked the Grand Gebze through Bookings.com. The hotel is situated at the northern end of Gebze and only 20 minutes drive from the circuit if you use the back roads recommended by the receptionist. The area is mainly industrial, so don't expect a tourist style hotel.....apart from events like the Grand Prix, I would expect the guests to be Turkish businessmen. Despite this, we found the hotel to be comfotable and modern. Most of the staff spoke good English and were always very helpful. The restaurant serves a good selection of excellent meals at very reasonable prices. The only downside (if you like a drink) is the cost at the bar.Because there are no other bars within a 30 minute walk, they have a captive audiance! 8YTL (£3.20) for 33cl Efes or 12YTL (£4.80) for Becks is the most expensive beer I have come across in Turkey..... I normally pay 4YTL max, and that's for 50cl !!!! Apart from the last point, our stay was excellent and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with a stay here.
