Small clean hotel in very central location in Taxim. Bus to everywhere in 100 meters.

Bad experience

Arrived in November after booking in February we are told that the other booked accommodation was occupied by customers who had not left. This is of a lower level and especially with a summary cleaning that you have to request every time. But the waitress always forgets something: towels, toilet paper, mat... At the reception then rarely there is anyone and then the question arises: is it safe? The completely inadequate owner who neither apologizes nor shows up but clearly minds only his business. Be careful if you book at Sunshime Taksim Suite they give you another much inferior structure with an excuse: it has the hint of teasing. But dear Mr. Volkan know that in the long run everything pays!

The Lemon Residence in Istanbul

This hotel was very clean, well situated and the staff could speak English. Don't be put off by the surrounding views. This is Istanbul on the European side. Our room was spacious with a kitchenette complete with a table and chairs. There is a snack bar next door that is cheap to eat in. The locals use it and it is clean. The main street around the corner is also full of nice cafes that are affordable. The cakes and Turkish Delight are worth a try. The area is a red light district but don't be put off. We were given a key to get into the hotel if we were late getting back. For security reasons the hotel is locked at 11 o'clock. Our room had a free safety deposit box. There is a sister hotel around the corner that is part of The Lemon Residence. We would book this hotel again.

Good location but very dirty

We booked two rooms per family. The location of the hotel is very convenient. There is shampoo, soap, clean towels. The renovation is modern. The linen was washed, but there were stains and there was a hole in one of the duvet covers. Both rooms needed a thorough cleaning. In our room, the door to the bathroom did not close; it was impossible to even close it completely. I had to prop myself up with a chair from the inside. There was a kettle in our room, but not in the second one. Microwaves in both rooms are tired. There are dishes, but they are very dirty; the plates have a layer of grease on the back. The kettle is old, they washed it, but they forgot to wash the spout, it’s all dirty, it’s disgusting to use. The tiles are portable, old and dirty. In the bathroom, the shower needs to be changed and the faucet is so dirty it’s disgusting to touch.
Judging by the reviews, the hotel was good, but now they have given up on it; perhaps there is no way to do repairs in a timely manner and update equipment. But that’s okay, the fact that everything is dirty, even to the point that there’s a layer of dirt on the heated towel rail in the bathroom, that’s sad, I’d put up with the rest.
