A decent hotel with good location

I received a complimentary night in Cettia through Istanbul stopover program and overall I am happy with my choice of stay (there was a choice of 5 or 6 hotels). The best thing in the room is the view. The windows are floor to ceiling and you can see even the Bosphorus Bay. Moreover, one of the windows has a build-in niche with a small padded stool where one can sit and observe the bustling city life from high above. The room had 2 complimentary bottles of water which is a great pro, as well as other important amenities like slippers and a dental kit. The breakfast was very decent, a buffet with many beautiful options that Turkey has to offer (olives, different kinds of cheese and bread, honey in honeycombs and so much more).
Big kudos to musicians playing in the evening - the guitar and cello sounded so great together, and the lady sang so beautifully.
I would also like to say huge thank you to hotel staff - Ulaş and Onur - who were so sweet and polite, courteous and attentive that I felt right at home.
My only concern was with lights, as even with all lights on the room still was rather dull, but this is the thing in many hotels around the world and it did not spoil my experience.
PS Just look at these ‘Do not disturb’ signs. Can they be any more cuter?

Broken air conditioning, run down and old

The hotel is very old, run-down, and poorly maintained. There is a noticeable damp, mouldy smell throughout the property, and it feels musty and humid.
The air conditioning in my room did not work at all. I was constantly sweating and the room was unbearably hot. Staff repeatedly blamed the hot weather in Turkey and insisted the air conditioning was working, but it clearly wasn't cooling the room.
I was recovering from illness at the time, so staying in those conditions was impossible. I asked to be moved to another room and was told there were no rooms available. I packed all of my belongings, brought my luggage down to check out, and only then was I suddenly told they could move me to a different room. By that stage I had already decided to leave because I had lost confidence that the issue would be resolved.
To make matters worse, they still charged me for the nights I couldn't stay.
The staff were unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to resolve the problem until I was walking out the door. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience with poor customer service, and I would not stay here again and would. It recommend it to anyone.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent breakfast, dinner a bit expensive.
Rooms not very large, but comfortable.
Huge flaw: there is no such thing as a 4-star hotel room without a closet !!!!!

It's definitely not a 4 stars hotel,
Room is so small as it's described as superior, noise isolation is zero , heat isolation zero, the air-conditioning is not efficient. rating on the app does not match the reality Will not stay again
