Göbeklitepe Dreams & Şanlıurfa Magic - From Sandstone Sanctuaries to Sufi Whirls

I found Ktisis Butik Otel on Instagram and was drawn to its blend of old town charm and modern style. Having long wanted to visit Göbeklitepe - the 12,000-year-old sacred site near Şanlıurfa, Türkiye - I booked the Hefesto Odası room after a prompt and friendly exchange with the owner, Ismail.
He arranged an airport pickup at a better rate than local taxis and greeted me with eastern music, local history, and great conversation. The hotel itself exceeded expectations: my room had arched sandstone walls, a cave-like feel, the comfiest bed, and the best shower I’ve had in Türkiye. Breakfasts were a highlight - local cheeses, eggs with chili, olives from Ismail’s family garden, yogurt, and an unforgettable apricot preserve made by his sister.
Ismail and his nephew Genghis created a warm, joyful atmosphere, making guests feel like family. I met wonderful people and had rich conversations in this welcoming space. Ismail also took me to a Sufi music and whirling dervish ceremony, introduced me to incredible local restaurants, and guided me through the winding backstreets of the old city.
If you're planning to explore Sanliurfa and Göbeklitepe, this is the perfect base.

The hospitality and kindness of the two people who work at the "Oasis".

First of all highlight the hospitality and kindness with which we were welcomed on entry, during the two night stay and at the exit of their "home". The place is beautiful, taking care of every detail of every corner of the house. The cozy room, as if we were in our own home.
Recommended thousand per thousand and more.
If one day I return to Sanliurfa without hesitation I will look again for this Oasis within a great city.
