Wonderful vacation at Tropic
We had a lovely time at Tropic hotel. Ordering through Ving, it only had two stars, so it was much better than expected. The location is perfect - super close to the sea, so it's easy to shuffle between beach, pool and room. In the middel of the day that was very important to us, as we travelled with kids, and needed small breaks in the heat.
The personal was so friendly and helpful! They cleaned properly, more often than we expected, and we never lacked clean sheets and towels. The restaurant gave us the little extra when we wanted a whole cake to celebrate.
We stayed in both a smaller double room, and a big double room, and we were so happy we did the upgrade. It definitely worth the cost to go for a bigger room! Wifi worked well all the time. And we had everything we needed in close proximity - supermarked, restaurants, cheap kebab, ATM.
When we go back we will bring with us EUR in cash to pay for everyday expenses, as this is better for the people living there. We didn't know that, but will learn until next time :)

Not worth the price despite the perfect location
Definitely not worth the money. The only real advantage of Hotel Tropic is its location, right by the beach and only about a 10-minute walk from the old town.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself is dirty and poorly maintained. The pool was often filled with debris left behind by other guests, and the rooms were not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Our room was also missing basic items and had several maintenance issues. There were no cushions for the balcony chairs, the toilet paper holder was loose and kept falling off the wall, and both the toilet and sink were dirty when we arrived. Our towels and bed linen also had visible stains. Although the room included a small kitchenette, there was no tableware or kettle, making it completely unusable.
Around 90% of the staff do not speak English, which makes communication very difficult. We also found the organisation and communication to be poor. For example, we were assured that we could extend our room and check out at 5:00 p.m. the following day. However, the next morning we were suddenly told that the hotel was fully booked and that we had to check out at 12:00 p.m. after all, despite the agreement we had been given. While we understand that unexpected situations can arise, it was disappointing that no effort was made to honour the arrangement or offer a suitable alternative.
The breakfast was acceptable. The selection was fairly limited, but the view over the water was lovely. However, the waitress appeared extremely stressed and was often so eager to clear tables that she removed food and drinks before we had finished.
It’s a real shame because the hotel and its location have so much potential. With better cleanliness, maintenance and organisation, it could be a great place to stay. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Super little gem of a hotel
I had a lovely 14 days at this hotel. The staff were so friendly & welcoming. I was given a beautiful room with a balcony & pool view when I booked the economy room. I was worried that I wouldn't have a balcony at all. Thank you, Umit & Ali . Nice pool area, with sun loungers. Breakfast was served upstairs on a nice terrace, with beautiful sea views. Food was good in the hotel restaurant.

Some of which seem a Mile + away from ancient Side. I found my room to be clean, I was a little apprehensive with some reviews I read before arriving at the hotel, however I only had a positive experience of my stay.
