Excellent breakfast, clean rooms
You know it’s a family-run business as soon as you step inside the room. It’s got spotless sheets and a clean bathroom that you won’t miss.
You’ve already read enough reviews about breakfast. But as much as it was described, it was too varied to say, “No bird milk.” Rather than quantity, to alleviate the doubt of qualifiers, I would say that everything on the table was homemade or local. Added to the menu for the holiday exclusive baklava included! Whatever you eat for breakfast at your mom’s house, Rota has it for you.
We had no doubts about our check-in/exit as it was a small property. But they showed us the refinement of serving up even when we wanted to grab the beer from the garden.
Let’s get to the shortcomings:
As the reviews mention, it’s not within walking distance to the center. Once you’ve gone straight up from the center, you’ll need to walk around a 15-minute walk through a healthy left-handed jungle (and dark at night) and take a 5-minute walk. In summer, it’s not the way to walk, either by day or by night at any time. If you have a vehicle, no problem. Empty grounds next to the hotel. Parking wherever you like.
Another shortage is the hotel’s lack of signage. Even if you get close to the hotel by location, you won’t be able to find Rota. They need to direct you to the hotel when you call.
And as far as I understand, they have license issues as they drive to the room without registering on the entrance. I hope this issue will be resolved soon, as it’s one of the best hotels in Rota Bozcaada.
I would love to stay in Rota again without hesitation on our next trip to Bozcaada.
