Garden Dream

Lovely location, quiet, nice garden, perfect and clean room, good restaurant, very helpfull receptionist. We spent 3 lovely days there - after a 3-week trip in Uganda. I highly recomend the guesthouse. Thank you Eliza, Daan and the whole team.

Oasis in the hills

Lovely little oasis just off the main roads of Kapchorwa. Nice chalet style rooms set in gardens, with plenty of space and good bathroom. Main building has restaurant and bar with tables inside and out, and a menu with plenty of options. Breakfast was lovely, with eggs and pancakes freshly prepared, and really good fresh coffee. Outdoor seating, and a fire pit for chilly evenings. Small on site shop with selection of handicraft souvenirs.

A Hidden Gem in Kapchorwa

Home of Friends is perfectly situated in Kapchorwa, with easy access to the surrounding nature and beautiful views. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed not as a guest, but as part of a community.
The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, yet still conveniently close to town when needed. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, with hot water and a lovely patio where you can enjoy a quiet morning.
What truly stands out is the team: Kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your stay meaningful and comfortable. The entire place is very well maintained: clean, quiet, green, and clearly cared for with attention.
A simple, genuine, and highly recommended place to stay in Kapchorwa. Oh! And the food, fresh and delicious. Don’t miss the beetroot burger, it’s a must-try.

Don't miss the Trail of Champions!

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay with Daan, Faizal and team. No small request was ever a problem.
Really enjoyed the locally grown coffee and 'fixed menu' dinners. The airy new dining room and verandah are a great addition (and perfect for our photography workshop).
Home of Friends is a great location to explore Sipi Falls, and the foothills of Mt Elgon. A highlight for me was running - well, fast walking! - the Trail of Champions with Elijah, a local athlete. The fact I met Joshua Cheptegai at Home of Friends is of course just a bonus!
