Close to Ayr seafront and a few metres from the town centre, Mercure Ayr is a comfy hotel with gym. Free WiFi is available throughout. The Brasserie Bar and Restaurant serves drinks, snacks and meals.

The staff where very friendly and helpful with anything that me and my wife needed the room was lovely and clean the parking is also easy to locate.

Poor hotel, lousy parking, excessive external and internal noise.
Having stayed at this hotel for a number of years previously to visit the Ayr Airshow, this is by far the worst in s steadily deteriorating level of quality stays. I’ve stayed at budget travelodge that have given better service.
Car parking was atrocious. The already too small for the hotel car park has shrunk further as a fence has been erected blocking off approximately 10 spaces. The result is absolute pandemonium with cars being blocked in by other guests.
Luckily we arrived early, as the hotel suggests you can, with them kindly volunteering to store luggage. We didn’t need this service, and had checked in online already, so we went out for a wander to see the area returning shortly before the 3 pm check in. A number of people were already hanging about the bar waiting to check in, but despite rooms being ready already, (obviously) the reception staff insisted on waiting till the stroke of 3 to allow anyone to check in. We let that slip as the check in was advertised as being 3 but still not great customer service. Our room was beyond disappointing, it was on the second floor, at the end of the hotel facing their tiny car park and a busy sports bar. With good double glazing there wouldn’t be an issue, but this window was faulty, missing seals and wouldn’t close properly. So pub and road noise was disruptive.
Not as much as our last night though. It appears our room is above the function suite. With a line dancing night on from 8-midnight. Fine except we have an early start tomorrow and there is NO way to sleep through this.
If this had been a last minute booking it might be understandable, but our 3* rated room, at over £550 was booked literally a year ago.
Reception were unhelpful and disinterested with vague excuses about their ‘events department’ booking things outwith their control. Room allocation is well within their control though, and it doesn’t take a great intellect to realise that someone booking that far beyond this concert wasn’t intending attending it so put them on a high floor, or at least ask at check in.

First - car parking a no no even if disability one you move u lose your space .

2 plug sockets in the room and not near the bed . I have a slop machine and needed an extension lead to plus on my machine also leaving a cord along the room to cause a trip hazard
3rd being on oxygen I’m not great on my feet
4th had to ask for extra everything as room only

Good location, most attractions are walkable. Sadly I was here for Business but there are plenty of eateries to choose from. It's only a 5 mins walk to the seafront, and a lovely garden to relax and read!

Really lovely overnight stay with friends , hotel is close to everything and bus station Staff are very friendly and helpful.
