Few days away

Stayed here for 3 days to visit Bakewell and the surrounding areas. Conveniently positioned at the end of the high street with a decent pub on the doorstep. Lovely room with an exceptionally large powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent with very good quality bacon and sausage. Would recommend this place to anyone

Brilliant stay. 2 nights for a 40th birthday with friends.
Easy check in, lovely rooms and a great breakfast. Just what we needed

Great location, very comfortable and immaculately clean.

Great overnight break at Avenue House. Location is excellent - just a few minutes' walk from the town centre - though when we drove into The Avenue we passed the house without realising as it is the first house on the right. Self check-in was straightforward.
We had a large double room which was immaculately clean. Although the room overlooked the side road, it was very quiet. The bed was an extra-large double and was very comfortable. The shower room was also immaculately clean. My only comment (which is very nit-picky) is that a toilet roll holder would have been useful - but otherwise no complaints.
A nice touch was that there was a small fridge on the landing (shared by several rooms) which meant we could keep our sandwiches and drinks cool!
Breakfast was pre-ordered the night before and then cooked to order so was hot and tasty. There was a selection of cereals, fruit juice and coffee available whilst waiting for the cooked breakfast and tea was made as required.
We really enjoyed staying at Avenue House and would happily visit again.

Perfect stay

Great location for our two night stay in Bakewell. Lovely house with comfortable rooms, nice and clean. Delicious cooked breakfast every morning. Hosts very friendly and welcoming.

Dissapointing

Dissapointing- gloomy decor - heart sank on arrival.
Has not responded to our email therefore posting this.
Plus side parking good and comfy bed.

Dear Helen.
I'm sorry you found Avenue House disappointing. Unfortunately I have never recieved any email from you, hence no response. You could have also mentioned your disappointment at breakfast. I'd always rather deal with issues face to face.
Contrary to your comments, many of our guests really like the house and the decor. It's an old Vicorian property, it has a few quirks, but this gives it character.
