Extremely disappointing – not worth the money
This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The rooms were filthy and clearly not cleaned to an acceptable standard. There was no toilet roll, no towels, and the overall condition of the room was extremely disappointing.
For the price paid, I expected a basic level of cleanliness and service, but this fell far below that. In all honesty, I felt like I should have been paid to stay here rather than having to pay for the experience.
Unfortunately, the whole stay was unpleasant and left a very poor impression. I would not recommend this hotel and certainly wouldn’t stay here again.

Completely disgusting
When we first arrived the lady and man seemed polite, we got to the room they had put balloons up for my birthday which was a request so they seemed kind.
But once getting into the room properly there was a very unpleasant smell… there were pet hairs on the balloons which made us question where they were from but we ignored it… we then went out for the day, came back at 9pm and as we went to get into bed, my 6 year old refused to sleep on the top bunk as it was too bumpy, to which when I felt it, it was rediculous and would be completely uncomfortable! And then the lower bed I pulled back the quilt cover and the sheet was also covered in short black pet hairs and bits! We decided to leave the room as one of the parties staying is pregnant and had pet allergies. I requested a full refund and the owners are refusing to do this as they are saying my video of the pet hairs is fake. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!

SCAM Dora Hotel / Hawkes Hotel

Arrived at the property to find the signage still for Hawkes Hotel and no mention of the Dora Hotel

After knocking the door for 20 minutes someone eventually answered. Phone number for hotel provided was invalid and not in service.
The gentleman who showed us in, originally said he was the cleaner, living at the hotel, renovating it and eventually a guest like us. All in the space of 90 minutes whilst we waited for someone to actually let us into a room. However, he knew the manager and was accessing all the rooms.
The same man said our room (14) wasn't ready but showed us Room 2 whoch was full of mould and the entire bottom floor had been flooded. This obviosuly wasn't appropriate for a family. He told us there had been a flood and showed us Room 1 just so we could see the extent and why there was mould in Room 2. It was horrific and straight out of a 3rd world country.
He then took us downstairs and said I shouldn't show you behind the bar (kitchen) proceeded to anyway. This room hadn't been used for well over a year and was derelict, full of mould and dust.
90 minutes now after actually getting into the hotel, we were shown to Room 14 on the top floor. The room had no mattress on double bed which had burn marks on the bed sheets. The room was also slightly mouldy and stank of it as did the entire hotel (no surprise considering what we had been shown on floors below). This had no toilet paper. Also no surprise a piecing everything together he was the cleaner and as he had previously mentioned the room wasn't ready. The room had no hot water or heating either.
Obviously we decided to cut our losses and didnt stay.
The Hotel, as you would expect as its a scam, didn't refund the monies paid. It was cheap, so this wasn't an issue.
However, please do not get scammed like we did. Dora Hotel / Hawkes Hotel, whichever they decide to use to scam you.
For your own safety, please do not use it, and if you are a hotel inspector, please visit and close this property down

Absolutely shocking behaviour from Owners and the 3rd party.
We arrived at the Hawkes hotel, even though when we booked through booking.com it was called Dora hotel, and was told by the owner the 2 rooms had been cancelled, we have this all in a recording which my daughter took on her phone, this was not the case on Booking.com we had not received anything, it turns out this hotel use a 3rd party called OYO (avoid at all costs) who had over booked the hotel, we were told we would 100% get a refund from them, 2 weeks on we have had nothing, and OYO keep telling us the same thing, that it will take 14 days to receive refund, we have escalated this to them and we are now talking to a solicitor who will be contacting the owner and OYO to get our £200. Can’t even talk to booking.com it’s ridiculous.

Don't stay here
Do not book or stay here. We arrived after a 6 hour journey from Scotland to be told our booking had been cancelled. No communication from the hotel or Oyo what so ever. This was nearly 3 weeks ago and I am STILL fighting to get my money back!!
We were left stranded in Blackpool on the busiest weekend of the year with no where t stay.
Abysmal service, my advice? don't book to stay here.
