Poo on WALLS - Unhygienic, Unsafe, Unacceptable
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The condition of the accommodation was completely unacceptable and, in my opinion, unhygienic and unsafe for families.
There was faeces/poo on the walls inside our room. It was so disgusting that we did not feel comfortable using the toilet and repeatedly had to take our children to McDonald’s just to use the bathroom. What made matters worse was when we learned that a few other guests had complained about very very similar issues with their own rooms and toilets, and had been completely dismissed and invalidated by the owners. This made us extremely uncomfortable about raising the issues ourselves while we were staying there, particularly when we also had concerns about the identity of the person managing the property. We were told the owner’s name was Steve, yet people were referring to him as Wez which made us all the more suspicious. Given the condition of the accommodation and everything else we experienced, this added to our feeling of being unsafe and uncomfortable.
This was supposed to be somewhere we could relax with our family, but instead we spent our stay worrying about hygiene, using public toilets and feeling uncomfortable in the accommodation.
I would strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here looks elsewhere. This was one of the worst accommodation experiences we have ever had and absolutely not what we expected when booking.

DONT BOOK!
Me and a group of friends spent a few nights here. both nights was full of loud disturbances which included screaming, yelling, fighting and slamming doors. We were all petrified to sleep therefore heard every single bit of this. this took place between the owner “Wez” and two girls in there 40’s. A domestic disturbance happened in room 9 and in the hall between room 6 and 9, we heard every single word and noise. The hotel rooms were a whole nother thing. The door locks were clearly been broken before, Mould and dirt and dirty bed sheets. Our friends bunk bed was caving in as the poles were bent. This hotel has to be shut down as it’s unhygienic and the owner is not as he seems. do not book for your own safety,please.

Do not book The Merlin Hotel it is no hotel the council flat is clean and better then this
No cleaning everyday, sharing bathrooms which is not that clean very nosy inside the room due to very thin walls. Simple is that you won't feel you are in Hotel on holiday

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
I wish I had read the reviews before we booked.
A group of 9 of us booked for a 2 night stay.
Upon arrival and viewing what state the hotel was in, I refused to stay In this hotel. Myself, husband and 2 children had to pay again to stay elsewhere. 3 more in our group only managed to stay here 1 night and left the next day.
The hotel is severely run down. The shower was broken and falling off the wall, no hot water, a leak in the ceiling, dirty bed sheets, curtains were falling down, mould around the windows, mattress with no springs, wallpaper peeling off the walls, dirty carpets, a shared bathroom for some of the rooms where people were able to just walk in while one of the guests were having a shower and continued to use the toilet!!
the whole hotel had a horrible smell, not to mention the hotel management and half the guests were high on drugs and alcohol, we overheard a conversation explaining that drug users where frequent visitors at the hotel.
It did not feel a safe environment for anybody never mind children..

Very small room we could see that some attempts to update had been attempted the whole building smelt of cigarette smoke
