Absolutely wonderful
The Kantara Guest house is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. Rose the owner is absolutely wonderful, as is her husband. kind, caring and so supportive. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, clean and tidy. With daily housekeeping. Breakfast served in the morning with a choice of beverages, the coffee being my absolute favourite, Myself and my family loved it here and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for somewhere lovely to stay in Bournemouth.

Misunderstandings leading to a very unpleasant stay ..... If you stay here be VERY careful how and what you book!
It is quiet and reasonably clean and comfortable. However, do NOT book direct with the owners. If you really want to stay there book using Booking.com or other intermediary. If I had done this I might have actually
a) got the accommodation I asked for
b) saved myself £33
and most importantly ...c) avoided an extremely unpleasant experience.
I initially booked what Booking.com describes as a luxury double or twin room with king AND queen beds on 25th Dec for £97.50
The owners then contacted me to say it wasn't available that day ...but I needed to change my plans anyway and so booked with them for the 27th. We had a conversation explaining why I needed two separate beds and was told this particular accommodation (a second bedroom accessible via the first) would be ideal, confirmation and price to follow by email. I'd checked booking.com and the price showing for the 27th was still £97 so when I was emailed and told the price was £90 no alarm bells rang, after all, they save something on commission if I go direct.
On arrival I find we have access to just a part of the accommodation - with only one bed.
To be fair to the owners, they did eventually sort it out, charging me an extra £40 which I did not argue about - I was very tired and needed a bed. What made things so unpleasant was
1) their initial reluctance despite my immediate agreement to the additional fee. They really didn't want to open up the other room and it took them over an hour and a half to actually agree to do that, even though I'd said yes to the £40 in the first call.
2) their attitude that this misunderstanding was somehow entirely my fault, even to the extent of telling me I'd "ruined their evening" and
3) stressing what a discounted price they had given me and I should have known it could not be for the two beds. There are a range of prices for this room, depending on the date. I'm attaching a photo of what is visible when you book online and as the picture shows, there are currently dates available where I could book it for £97 and there is certainly no indication that the queen and king beds are not both available at that price. Afterall, that is how the room is advertised.
I have family nearby who I visit frequently, but I will certainly not be staying here again.

I’m writing because I’m confused about review , especially since we were closed from mid-December to early January. That’s why this booking seems strange.
The reservation also mentions choices of queen or king beds, but we don’t have this option, It also talks about interconnected rooms and room having a balcony which we don’t offer. Other details, like an outside dining area, and interconnected indoor don’t match anything at our guesthouse. The booking even includes breakfast, which we don’t provide unless added to the booked.
The attached photo also doesn’t have no reference to the guest house Could you please send the reservation prior to date change and I will happily look into this .

Weekend away
My wife and i stayed here for two nights. On arrival we was met by Rose the owner who by first impression you feel your going to be made welcome. Our room was on the top floor which at first we thought this isn't a good start but as soon as we entered our room it was clean and well laid out, everything you need is there but if you needed anything else, nothing was too much trouble.
Kantara is set in a quite part of Bournemouth and it's not far to walk into town. Breakfast in the morning was lovely plenty to eat and drink. We stayed at the time of the world cup and Rose set up the tv for us so we could watch the game in peace and comfort with plenty of booze on tap to help us celebrate.
We will go back to this lovely friendly guest house.

A wonderful little Guest House
My daughters and I visited the Kantara for an overnight stay and we were thoroughly impressed. The accommodation is lovely, conveniently placed and our room was light airy, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The en-suite was done so well and everything looked brand new.The owner is extremely welcoming helpful and friendly.
We were only sorry that we had an early start back to London the following morning as I would expect the breakfast to be great too! Definitely recommend this lovely guest house.

Excellent B&B
I jus stayed for a night, but would have liked to be able to take the bed with me the next day. Best ever. The room is a bit small, but the ensuite bath room was almost as big: huge!
The B&B is quiet to a fault, the TV fine and the breakfast spotted the most succulent and big portobello mushroom a had had for a long time. Recommended!
