Great pub and country location

Excellent three night stay. Friendly, welcoming staff, large comfortable room and good food. Garden beautiful despite the drought. We will return.

Geat place to eat.

We only visited the restaurant. Top notch service, food excelent, price reasonable. We have been before and undoubtedly will come again.

Perfection

This was our first visit and it will not be our last we were welcomed with a warm smile and and taken to our table.
The food was excellent. I had the duck for mains and it was cooked to perfection. In fact every coarse was perfect full of flavour.

Stunning!

We visited for a Birthday Lunch and wanted to try somewhere we hadn’t tried before. From the minute we walked into the bar, we knew it was a special place. The ambience was cosy and welcoming, with beautiful decor and a large open fire in the inglenook fireplace.
We chose Mackerel pate and melted raclette cheese as starters, then ballotine of chicken with chorizo and the celeriac,onion and mushroom tart. This vegetarian option tasted like nothing I have had before, absolutely delicious and both mains substantial sized portions.
I didn’t have room for dessert, but my husband had the crumble which was lovely but a tad too sweet for his taste.
We will definitely return and although a bit pricey, we felt it was excellent value for something different!

Fabulous

What a fab place, beautifully decorated and presented, lighting just right - so many get it wrong. Room was beautiful and spacious. It was steak night and I’m a vegan! Totally impromptu overnight stay as we were in the area. The chef excelled himself providing me a delicious dinner at short notice. Staff were fab, attentive and cheerful. What more could you want.
