Amazing hotel. Booked last minute as a last resort, but the rooms shocked me. Super super spacious. Lovely place to be

Outdated and Overpriced with Poor Service

This hotel is very dated, I get the impression it used to be a nice upmarket place but hasn't aged well. It is priced quite high for what you get. The staff were not particularly welcoming, I would almost go as far to say the person on reception was rude. The room decor is out-dated with damage and there is mould in the bathroom. My sheets had stains and the plug sockets aren't positioned well. I went to the bar where they had no soft drinks on draught, I was offered lemonade which was in an open jug.. I ended up heading to the petrol station down the road!

No accessible room, after being told there was one.

Booked accessible hotel room as I’m an amputee in a wheelchair, checked twice in days running up to stay that the room was definitely available, was told yes it was, arrived at hotel to be told that no hotel room.
My son had to drive me back to Wales and then drive himself home after an oncology appointment in Birmingham.
The manager was quick to blame his staff.

It was a same day arrival booking, so the room was a little dusty from lack of use but other than that it was clean. It was my fourth stay here so I’d be happy to return again.

Pleasant surprise

Very pleased with this hotel and was surprised how good it was considering it is in the Britannia group of hotels as not had a very good experience at other Britannia Hotels. Food good and reception areas and outside good. Bedrooms dusty etc and will soon deteriorate if no room service is carried out regularly. Bathroom sink area old and door to toilet and shower was too big to open fully so had to manoeuvre round the toilet to be able to get in shower room 179
