I had such a good 2-nights stay! Nice room, a bit of traffic outside but it didn't bother me. And they had provided ear plugs, just in case.
Good breakfast in the cafè, good food in the pub. Very good gluten-free options as well!

Cracking pub right in the heart of Castleton!! Great room, lovely choice of cask ales, and the best pie!!

Weekend in castleton

Second time staying here, pleasant staff, rooms very clean and comfortable.
Had the pork and stuffing sandwich for lunch on the first day and it was excellent
Staying here in a heatwave was a bit difficult as only a roof window.
Breakfast was really good however it was stated on the menu that there was juice, but when I asked for some the waitress just said we don't have it.Its a pub!!
This was just a small issue and wouldn't stop me staying again.

My wife and I had a pleasant 1-night stay at this property. The staff were friendly and helpful - helped with our special request of storing some personal item in their fridge. Please note that the check out details on Expedia are incorrect - correct check out time is 10:30am (not 11am). Staff was friendly - allowed for a late check out of 11:30am. The choice of hot breakfast was also excellent! The only complaint about this property is that the room we stayed in (room 2) didn't match the pictures which look refurbished and modern. The bathroom was very small and tired (so was the room). But the staff's friendliness made up for this shortcoming.

A lovely friendly pub with good food

Very nice meal in this friendly pub. The food was very good and the chap taking waiting tables was very attentive and hospitable. I had their own pie which was the deepest pie I think I’ve ever had, packed with meat and filling. A very pleasant experience.
