When we arrived there was a wedding on so we were given a lovely big quiet corner room well away from the festivities which was thoughtful. Good breakfast

Must Be Better Places to Stay in Edinburgh

Where to start ... bedside drawer missing, child's sticker attached to the bed head. Smoke detector covered in dust and not sure what else, the heating vent and window sill covered in dust. Stains on pillowcase and pillows that should have been disposed of long ago. Paint patch on bathroom door, if you have gone to the trouble to patch the door at least paint it the same colour or repaint the whole door. Poor maintenance generally.

Bit out of the way but all good apart from no towels in the room! Rectified immediately reception informed😁. Decent breakfast.

Decent stay, nice staff, lovely pool. But our room was a little shabby.

This was an unexpected stop after a cancelled flight, paid for by ourselves. As it was August in Edinburgh it was expensive but on a par with other hotels in the area. That is simple supply and demand - not a criticism of the hotel itself.
The front desk staff were great, very friendly and helpful. In fact after we left we realised we'd left behind our daughter's bunny and blanket which hold huge sentimental value. We called the hotel and within 10 minutes they'd called us back to say they found the items and they were set aside for collection. Massive thanks to the team for that.
The hotel is in a nice quiet location so no traffic or street noise. Its only a short 20 minute bus ride from the airport (we took the No.17 bus) and the stop is only a couple of minutes from the hotel. Due to a very early flight in the morning we took an Uber back to the airport which was £15 (obviously prices change at different times of the day).
The hotel has a great pool. Decent size for a hotel, nice and warm. The steam room and sauna were also very nice, and welcome after a long day of travelling. As the hotel has a health club and gym for non-residents the changing facilities were also good with decent showers and lockers.
We didn't use the bar and restaurant so can't comment on that but personally we found the prices a little steep hence we ordered in a pizza.
Our room was a family room so had a nice double bed and a bunk bed for the kids. It was a decent size.
I'd say one criticism (and I've found this at other Leonardo hotels I've stayed in) is that the rooms are dated and need to be refreshed. Clean, but definitely in need of a refurb. The bunk beds and floors were very creaky. We didn't have anyone in the rooms around us or above us but I can see the creaking being an issue if the hotel was busy.
I would certainly stay here again if the price was right.

Clean hotel if looking a little tired in places. Staff were excellent, very friendly. Not sure if it's the licensing laws but the bar shut at 11pm which we thought was a little early for hotel guests.
