Ova povijesna georgijanska zgrada nalazi se u mirnoj ulici u edinburškom Novom gradu, 700 metara od željezničkog kolodvora Haymarket. Ima velike sobe s vlastitom kupaonicom i tradicionalni bar u škotskom stilu.

this was the nicest place for the price I could recommend. The staff could not be any more helpful if they tried. Always helpful with a smile could not do be any more friendly always there to offer help, room was clean just showing it age in places but we don't really like the modern square box hotel rooms will be back again at some point.

A lovely stay, a great experience with lovely staff.
We didn’t arrive until late evening it was quite easy to find (beware our mobile internet didn’t work very well in the city centre). I suggest booking a parking space if you are driving. Parking elsewhere is expensive and hard to find.
Scott on reception was there to greet us and helped us with our bags. He went above and beyond to help us. There is no lift and a lot of stairs. We were in the last room at the top of the hotel. I suppose you got used to the stairs they aren't too bad but they are a killer.
The room was amazing. Don’t go expecting everything to be pristine. It’s an old building so it’s never going to be like that. It was clean and warm.
The bathroom is small but big enough for what you need. They provide 2 medium towels, a hand towel and a bath mat. If you need a hair towel I suggest you bring your own. They do provide a hair drier. The bed is absolutely heavenly. I suffer with my back, but even sharing a bed with my daughter I slept all night.
There is ample room to get ready and plenty of space to for your belongings.
The lighting isn't great, for makeup . There are lamps on each side of the bed. And a main light in the high ceiling. You get a small travel kettle with complimentary tea and coffee and decent sized mugs. And 2 glasses.
If you like original decor, go here, it maybe a little rough around the edges and a little worn but it is a home from home. With a beautiful view of the castle.
The only complaint I have about the room was plug points. There were enough. But non by the bed.
The continental breakfast. Don’t bother, it’s not worth it. We had book for both mornings but only went down on the second.
We went down about 9am on the Saturday. There wasn't much left. Tea and coffee (which wasn't the best) two juices, no sugar or sweeteners and no jugs for milk (no milk options, but we didn't ask).
There were a few pastries (uncovered) and an option of white or brown bread. (With butters and jams)
Four choices of cereal. A few fruits in syrup and natural yoghurt left out in a bowl. The flavoured yoghurt pots, which were high fat and really high sugar. No fresh fruit. A small plate of cheese and one of meat both uncovered. There were warm hard boiled eggs, but no egg cups or extra small plates to be able to shell them. We didn’t expect a lot of options but we did expect a little better than that.
On the whole a great place yo stay and relax, not too far from all the bars, restaurants and touristy bits but far enough that you get peace and quiet.
Take good walking shoes there is a lot to see and do

Terrible experience
The building is very old and badly mantained. The reception is not 24/7 and the receptionist covers all other roles e.g. cleaner, waiter and so on. Spidernets stretch everywhere and dust covers all surfaces. The breakfastvis extremely poor. Apparently, the hotel is short of staff, the facilities are obsolete, the hygene is rediculous and the service is very questionable. On top of that the prices are premium for no reason. Do not go there! Very disappointing!

Great staff good place
The hotel is clearly old, but it still felt cozy and comfortable. The room was very big, and comfortable, but what really made the difference was the amazing staff in the hotel, very helpful, friendly, and doing everything they could to accommodate us.
The location was very easy to get to the city centre, short walk .

Fantastic Service and Welcoming Staff
We spent two nights here as we were going to see The Royal Edinburgh Tattoo. We had a very warm welcome by the owner and they organised a taxi both ways for us to attend this event. This was much appreciated and very good service. This also continued with a helpful member of staff that took our luggage to our room, ( three flights of stairs).
The room was large and very well furnished and decorated. Plus a cool temperature as they had slash windows open with a beautiful view of other residents gardens. It had a safety catch on too which was good for a safety element, but enough gap to have a nice breeze coming through. Even two chairs to enjoy the view. We slept very well as the bed was very comfortable.
As the Hotel did not have evening meals they did not mind us ordering a takeaway and eating in the Bar area.
Overall a very pleasant stay and we will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. If we ever come to Edinburgh again we will be coming back.
