Generally good but grotty bathroom
I was very impressed with my executive bedroom. All staff I encountered were polite & friendly. However, the bathroom was absolutely shocking for a 4 star hotel . So grotty looking & basic I chose not to shower there. I also had an absolute mare trying to exchange my Leonardo Vouchers in the restaurant & am awaiting a response from them about this.

Nice stay but poor evening meal
We stayed here on a Ogdens Coach Tour for an overnight stay. We have stayed at this. hotel previously . Check in was quick and we were in our room 217. A nice big room with all typical amenities you would. expect.
All well with the room,but can't say the same with the evening meal. Was very disappointed with the meal. From the soup starter to the main course all were luke warm. The meals had only just put out and had not been out under the heating lamps long enough. Most of the coach complained aout the cold meals. The two lady's serving were obviously supervisors and were friendly. I did notice that the barman Connor, also was working in the restaurant and again he was in the reception on me leaving. He was a friendly hard working young man. I ask is there a shortage of staff at this hotel? Breakfast was very good in the morning plenty of choice and hot.
Hope te meals can be sorted out, it won't take much to improve them.

Hidden cost of car park pay on checking out nothing about when booking and always full, The young, tall receptionist of Indian origin was burping behind the front desk as we walked in and didn’t even apologise. Overall, this wasn’t the best hotel and the service wasn’t great either. The female receptionists were very friendly and helpful, but the rest of the staff seemed as if they were there against their will. Their attitude and behaviour were very unpleasant.

Room needs a deep clean and no aircon in roon
The room I stayed in wasn’t very well cleaned (see photos), and also in need of some renovation (again, see photos). Thankfully the bed was clean, but the rest of It was somewhat grubby, to be honest. I’m attaching the photos because I hope that seeing them will prompt the hotel management to have a word with the cleaning staff.
My biggest issue was being unable to get a good night sleep, because I stayed in July and the room was clammy and hot at night. My room had no aircon (not even a thermostat), and while opening the window cooled things down, I then had to contend with noise from the city. The FAQ on the website promises that “each room has individually controlled climate settings for year-round comfort”, so that seems to be a falsehood for whatever reason.
To give credit were it’s due, the ribeye steak from the restaurant was surprisingly good.
