The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal we had was very tasty and well prepared.
The location was just below the South Downs and in a beautiful little village just a short walk to the Wilmington Giant.

Both were excellent. The local beers were spot-on. And the staff were friendly and welcoming. If only the place didn’t involve a 100 mile round trip…

A small minded and petty small business with poor service.
Regardless I called to give them the courtesy of knowing I wouldn't be coming and to ask for an invoice for my stay in order to be able to claim on my expenses as well as to see if I could reschedule for a week or so later.
I was told I needed to email the manager. This I did without reply for a couple of weeks so I resent the email and called them again. Eventually I got my invoice with the excuse for the delay being that they're a small family run business - hardly my problem!
I then discovered that it wasn't for the full amount I paid, as any other hotel does regardless of whether you book direct or through an agent, but for the amount they received! So I emailed again explaining I among out of pocket by circa £20 and asked them to follow standard practice and issue me with an invoice for the full amount - they refused.
This is a small minded, small business that hides behind being family run to excuse poor customer service. To not issue me with a copy invoice for the full amount I paid is petty in the extreme. It is not my fault I booked this way and if they don't like it then come off the booking websites and only accept direct bookings.

An Excellent Lunchtime with Friends
The service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The pleasant atmosphere in this beautifully refurbished Edwardian building adds to the sense of occasion.
